Re: Reward card for expats and expat businesses - Launch 2011

I bought The Expat Card and found out about a lot of businesses that I didn't even know about. I like that can have access to businesses that I know welcome my business as an expat. I mean no one is going to turn down my business, but as a new comer, it is helpful to know where to look. And besides, it seems that CH has less coupon offers as in America, so it's nice to get "a good deal" every now and then.

Thanks for making TEC happen!

So you want to receive a lot of people's details for free without a guarantee that it will actually give you anything at all.... I guess you should contact Facebook they love that kind of practice.

Thank you for pointing that out to me. Though I cannot edit the post now, I can guarantee that I will shut down this post when the 50 has been made, so until then, I can guarantee that the 50 places have not been taken, and that each person who emails me WILL get a card.

Re: The Expat Card FREE CARDS FOR THE FIRST 50 ENGLISHFORUM MEMBERS!

As you are working for a company and said company is collecting private details of people you might want to declare exaclty what is being done with data that people are supplying, how it is being processed, who is receiving a copy of that data etc.... Some people are not very keen on supplying their data to random organisations declaring the how and what though tends to help a bit.

I'm feeling rather discriminated against that I too, cannot also enjoy the benefits of such a wondrous card as an expat.

Let this truly read as, be targetted against to receive spam/junk mail from the card company/businesses associated with card company

Re: The Expat Card FREE CARDS FOR THE FIRST 50 ENGLISHFORUM MEMBERS!

Sorry if I did not make it clear before. The Expat Card gives NO INFORMATION to THIRD PARTY organizations. Your address is purely so we can send you a card, and we take your postal code and nationality for our own information to just see what kinds of cardholders we have on board. As for your email addresses, they are added to a newsletter list, which is provides interesting information, especially when you have a card but you can always UNSUBSCRIBE yourself on the bottom of every newsletter.

I am sorry the cards are only going to people living in in the "8***" postal code...it is just that I would like people to take advantage of the card and this is easier at the moment as the majority of businesses are in the city.

I just got my card in the post, too. I'm going to start making good use of the discounts by heading to Globus where you get 10% off for the whole day.
Thank you.

Hi There,

I am passing this information on for a friend of mine who is working on the card. There are businesses on board, and that is the targeting for now...hence why it is under this forum, and not another. The cards will be available at a later date...but more information can be known about that in the near future.

I think the idea is pretty good...as an Expat myself....

So in post one you are just passing info on for your friend and post two it really is your business. Meh.

Friend of yours by any chance? Lol

Not sure why the approach is quite so surreptitious here, just be upfront.
