Macvicars Scottish Bacon

So many people have been been replying via PM, or calling me, that I think it's simpler to put the details here.

I am Colin, a Scottish butcher that's been living in Switzerland on and off 30 years. I used to have my own butchers in Zürioberland, but am now currently selling bacon, cured to my own Scottish recipe, through my employers Jelmoli.
It is also available direct through me, for personal consumption, or resale.

Please give me a call on 078 639 15 64, or stop by the butchers counter at Jelmoli and say hi.

enjoy
Colin

Bacon & Sausages

Hi Everyone

by popular demand, I have started producing Cumberland Sausages, as well as my well received MacVicars Scottish Bacon.
Rather than make a huge batch, and attempt to sell them through the butchers counter at Jelmoli, where I have my regular job, I have placed a few kilo in the fridge at the Big Ben Pub in Niederdorf, open 16:00 http://www.bigbenpubzurich.ch/ to see what the reaction is.
They come in packs of 6-7 large sausages and weigh around 1/2 Kilo.
Please feel free to ask Egon the Manager, or one of his staff.

If they take off, I shall be looking round for other outlets.

What could be better for breakfast during Christmas than waking up to a nice breakfast courtesy of MacVicars?

Colin

Re: Bacon & Sausages

My frequent trips to the Jelmoli meat counter for more bacon supplies is becoming a bit too frequent. But I don't care...

Sausages available as well now? Looks like the Big Ben pub will be on my shopping circular now, too!

All you have to add to that medley is a black pudding and a smoked eel.

Polorise, certain things should not be mentioned on open forums!!!

Things like that should be kept to the bedroom, in the dark, with some rosary beads and praying for forgiveness

Re: Bacon & Sausages

Sorry guys, CHF 14 per 1/2 Kg. Uncooked!! Big Ben's a drinkery, not an eatery.
Stop press. Someone is picking up 6Kg, but there are 4Kg left.

The manager Egon will, as usual, be kilted after 18:00. Get him a drink later in the evening, and ask him if it's true about what is worn underneath

Get your sticky hands off, there isn't enough to go round here..let alone shipping the precious meat out to heathens in other cities.
