Everything related to your computer, network, etc.

Hi guys

I am living in Basel area and working for IT. I have a big experience with computers (actually is my hobby too ). I know that many people suffer a lot of issues with their computers, network, Internet access, etc.

If you need any help setting up any computer, application, securing the network, router issue, remote access, security thing, whatever, you may contact me. I cannot tell the exac prize, as it would depend on what is needed, etc, but of course it will be not expensive. I can go on site to your home or you may cqme to mine.

Best regards

Sounds like a fair deal. I am not sure what to do right now because my Windows seem to be broken. Someone must have thrown the micro soft stones at them

. . . Windows seem to be broken. . .
Windows has always been broken, some versions even worse than others. Vista and 8.0 are the worst of a bad lot.

Sorry dear folks, I was just pulling your leg with my post. I should have rather written "smashed" not "broke" the window, so that the intended pun would have been more clear.

Speaking of the devil, I agree that Windows 8 with its GUI view on my home notebook is atrocious. I prefer much better the standard desktop view on my work notebook operating with Windows 7. Hopefully the Windows 10 will be another step in the right direction. Having said that both 7 & 8 seem to be very stable and overcome my previous issues with XP.

Re: Everything related to your computer, network, etc.

Toshiba laptop and Windows 8.......

First time in my life I have learned to actually hate a machine!

Our children gave us this new laptop for a wedding present - and 6 months later ..... after various "helpful" sons have had a go at it (one of those sons is an IT specialist!) it is still a pain in the a**.

All we wanted was a new pc.

What we`ve ended up with is a mish-mash of garble.

Took hours and a bribe, to get the keyboard into QWERTZ.
Some of the language is in English.
And the rest is still in German.
So the main user (Me) cannot follow the "simple" instructions - how to`s etc.

My old pc - also bought in CH - is ALL in English! And SO simple to use!

Even the touchpad is non-usable/not normal (crap).

If the stupid pc won`t let me sign into Skype, I can`t even get my most useful son to sort it out with Teamviewer.

And that was nice, to be able to vent my hate on this thread. I feel better now. Going back to my ancient pc.

Vista is far far worse than 8.0 (bad as it is).

Re: Everything related to your computer, network, etc.

I will say that he helped me out last year with a knotty Windows problem that I couldn't figure out, at very reasonable rates.

Re: Everything related to your computer, network, etc.

I jus was looking around the forum or other sources and i was a bit suprised about seeing what the prizes are as average in switzerland for computer support...i seeing like 100 ch per hour, etc. Perhaps is the normal here but what i use to charge when helping people it the half.

Any feedback about it? or maybe i am too cheap?

thanks
