I've gotten involved with a couple of women at Fuurwarch (Fireworks) in Dubendorf and have been having a blast. It is a brand new, paint your own ceramics studio with a great variety of bisqueware and non-toxic (food safe) paints. This type of business has been around for years in the States and a lot of expats have done this sort of thing, but, it is new to Switzerland. It is a great place to take the kids to made something for Christmas--or to have a birthday party, etc. It is really marketed for the expat community and classes are in English or German.
Hi Deborah
I am living in Zug and paint and decorate ceramics. I have my own kiln and am trying to find a place where I can buy the raw bisqueware which I would obviously fire myself. Does the studio where you are doing the ceramic painting also sell the bisqueware and perhaps glazes etc. I am not sure where Dubendorf is but hopefully it is within reasonable travelling distance from where I am based.
The woman you want to talk to at "Fireworks" (Fuurwarch) is Rose. She has the bisqueware and glazes. I know she would be willing to sell them to you. Last time I was in, she had such a great variety of items. You could get directions and a phone number off the website. www.fire-works.ch Good luck and let me know how you make out.
Thanks for the reply Deborah . I will definitely investigate and let you know how I get on. This was the first time I've used this English Forum and I think it's great. Thanks very much.
Thanks for the reply Nathu Tried your suggestion and found all the sites - will wade through them as I don't speak German (yet) so will try and work out which products are which but the sites all look very relevant.
I've started up a pottery painting business in Verbier. Great business that you can run from home - franchise opportunities available for Switzerland.
