| | | English Recording Studio
Hi Everyone,
I would like to offer my services as an English recording engineer (I also speak reasonable German and French), along with my studio, in Altstetten, Zurich.
I am a life long musician, starting in orchestral music, and ranging through rock, funk, reggae, salsa, hiphop, electronic and more.
i have played with Gil Scott Heron, Polo Hofer (one for the Swissies!), Body Count, and many other bands.
My digital/analogue hybrid Apple Mac Logic Pro studio is equipped with fine pieces of music technology, with brands like Neumann, Empirical Labs, Universal Audio, Brauner, Adam, Groove Tubes, AKG, Korg, Fender, Warwick, Roland, RME, Presonus, and more, analogue-summed to a Soundtracs Consoles UK Solo Dual Inline 24 track (poss. 48 inputs), with 24 mic preamps, 8 buss, 6 aux, and parametric eq, with RME/Digimax FS 24-bit, 24-track simultaneous outputs for mixdown. And, REAL reverberation chambers!!
Software includes Logic Pro, Melodyne, Final Cut Pro, Waveburner, Tritone, and more.
I can record anything from a full band or orchestra (Pearl Export drums, Fender Stratocaster + Fender Deluxe, Fender Jazz bass + Warwick amp mic'ed and available in studio) to a kareoke cd for a birthday, or cassette, MD, Vinyl, etc transfers, all at reasonable rates. Mobile recording is also offered, as well as rehearsal facilities. Digital video also possible.
Website here: http://www.morph2.com/music/
Thanks for your attention, and thanks to the English Forum!
Cheers, Morph

hey morph, basel pianist and vocalist here. Would you happen to know anyone who could do a pro music video for one of my tracks? Preferably in Basel Zurich area. The concept would be fairly low budget low tech...just trying to get some leads. many thanks, sully.

REAL reverberation chamberS! Wow. Not only is that rare, but MORE than one is amazing!
Any photos of the studio? You surely have a website - a link, perhaps?

Live room WITH Daylight! Awesome, thats not a common thing, sounds great.
I have spent way to much time in Studio bat caves. Too often the studio operators try to create "killer creative atmosphere", and you end up in a dimly lit box surrounded by maroon velvet curtains.....
Pics would be great, PM them to me if you like.

like the site Morph, nice and clean and easy to get around. Looks like you have some really tasty toys in there as well.
At the risk of trying to give you a hard sell, which is not my intention, if you need future photography done, please let me know. My Drummer (expat Canadian) is a pro photographer by day, has specialised in music industry photography for many years, and is super cheap compared to photogrphers in switzerland.
I can PM you his details if you ever need them.

Hi EFers,
As it seems I can't edit the original post, I just want to let you know my new website is up, with photos and information about the studio.
All contact info, prices and services can be viewed there.
Please do go and have a look, and give me a call or an email, if you have any questions, comments, or would like to visit the studio.
The new site can viewed by clicking the link below: http://www.morph2.com/
I would also like to thank Andy at Weta Studios, for doing such a great job on the website design. Anybody needing design work should check out his stuff: http://www.wetastudios.com/CiDe.html
Thanks for your attention!

Hi Swiss Cheddar,
Yes, the Adam p11a speakers are great, very detailed!
I see the gallery is not working, that will be fixed soon. Thanks for letting me know, though. Once we get the gallery running, we will be adding more pictures, so check back.

At the risk of being nosey, how did you get into opening a recording studio?
Did you need something to record yourself and expanded from that, a boy's toys hobby gone mad, or just something you thought you could do better than what was already out there?
I assume it's at least a relative success; you're still in business nearly three years down the line. Well done for having a decent business doing something you enjoy.

mirfield,
No problem being nosy
It basically grew out of earning my living as a musician, plus a good dose of boys toys fascination with blinky lights and shiny mics
Our latest acquisition is a Revox A77 Mk III reel to reel tape recorder, a Swiss classic. There is even a Nato version: http://www.reeltoreel.de/Revox/A77TapeThat.htm
Ours needs some work, but it still sounds great.

If you don't mind me asking, what program do you use to record your sounds with?
I'm slowly getting started with my music but the music program I'm using isn't all that great for vocals. I was just wondering if you could help me out as to what to look for since you have obviously had some success haha.
