Pilates - now running small group classes

Hi All,

As this is the section for shameless commercial posting, I thought I would share with you the latest from my Pilates Studio, in the heart of Zurich.

We have just introduced small group classes. A group consists of a maximum of four participants. To optimise your Pilates training we ask each person to commit to a block of 10 classes. This means that the pace and intensity of the class can increase with each class, making your training more beneficial and interesting.

We are continually trying to optimise our class schedule and would appreciate anyone interested in attending group classes to let us know when would be the most convenient time for them so we can try to arrange a class. Currently we have the following classes scheduled:

Tuesday (starting 7/02/06) 18:00 - 18:55 (full)
Tuesday (due to start 7/02/06) 19:00 - 19:55 (4 spaces available)

Friday (started 3/02/06) 19:00 - 19:55 (2 spaces)

This year, we have also introduced a comprehensive instructor training program, in association with Equilibrium. The Orientation and Mat Instructor level 1 are running on the 10/02/06 - 12/02/06.

For further information feel free to browse our website http://www.symetris-pilates.ch
or contact us via email info@symetris-pilates.ch or call on 043 535 09 63

I look forward to hearing from you and training with you!

Re: Pilates - now running small group classes

A few years ago I had a bad back and got introduced to a form of Pilates exercise which was supposed to strengthen my abdominal corset or something like that.

I did the exercises for a while and was very impressed.

Since then however I've gone to seed, although I've never had a repeat of that back problem.

So I really would be interested if it's effective exercise for the truly old overweight person with a young fit body screaming to get out ( and play football one sunday afternoon! )

I'd need two lessons a week as I think my time in Zurich is running out at the end of June.

Can it be done? Would it work?

Lynn...I'm up and running on my fitness...well walking at least...as the big game approaches on the 13th June with potentially another one later in the month.

My only problem is that I usually arrive on a monday evening and leave on a friday evening. I'm away all next week so I was thinking about this schedule....

Tuesdays 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
Thursdays 7th, 14th, 21st

Does this sound feasible? (It's possible I'll be here the weekend of 16/17 june to fit in another one) How late do you stay open because ideally 8pm would a start time for me.

I'd do this on my own but if we can get a class up (Jemma?) would it be so much the better?

Hi Tim,

I suggest we actually continue this scheduling off the forum... so email me at the studio or PM me.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Re: Pilates - now running small group classes

Hi,

I am an English Pilates instructor who is now working at Holmes Place in the Jelmoli building. I am taking classes and private one to one sessions.

If anyone wants any information or help with questions about Pilates and how it can help you (especially if you have a back problem) please feel free to contact me.

Ciao.
