Best of luck! Do checkout if there is a 'licence' involved.

Re: Indian Vegetarian Food

I think you will find that some people are already doing this.
If you go to the big banks (offices) in Zurich at lunchtime, you will see them.

Re: Indian Vegetarian Food

I know lot of people who are doing this and they don't have license . But not sure it depends on permit or what?

Re: Indian Vegetarian Food

Licence is for making and selling food. No connection with the type of permit.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty certain your permit doesn't allow you to work. This includes being self-employed.

It would be horrible if he had the talent for food, but cannot apply it, so therefore sits around and dord nothing all day. I would rather he figure out how to produce some value to contribute.

What if he cooked and distributed for free, and people voluntarily gave him money. Would that constitute work?

I know people who started this way and became quite successful. Go for it nitesh! Good luck!

Nothing to do with his/her ability to cook and everything to do with the legal status. If your permit does not allow you to work and you do work despite that, the authorities will take a very dim view of it. Up to potentially revoking the permit.

Really? Are you sure? I thought an L-permit allows one to set up for work; e.g., training, contingency work, temporary work, etc. Au Pairs have been known to come in on L-permits, towards a B permit.

I imagine this would be like a Dabbawala food service, nitesh? That would be pretty cool to have in Zuerich. Although you probably shouldn't run around and get noticed. The restaurant syndicate would be peeved if they were to find out.

You have to "register" in at least one way. For example, you will need a food handling license and register as being self employed (or form a GmbH). And if you're renting your home you will need permission from your landlord.

Search the forum, there's been quite a few threads here over the years asking the same sort of questions.
