Exactly which American used cars come with a "3 year warranty" if not exported?

How many customers exactly are we talking about here? How long have you been doing this?

How are you going to give someone a quote on a used car? Sorry, last time I checked, a BMW 3 series from 2006 with roughly 50,000 kms will not have a "sticker price".

I'm very skeptical.

As you appear to be so concerned for our fellow efers... i would like to ask you what experience you have to be so patronizing. Indeed i have been doing this for 5 months like stated and have imported over 15 cars to extermely happy customers. Unless you know something i dont (considering i have imported audis mercedes and bmw's) the warrantys are not tranferable. Perhaps you can enlighten me with your knowledge.

Furthermore i have considerable experience in importing cars, I do not have a personal website but use autoscout24.ch to sell the cars. As i am a private seller this has been more than acceptable for all my happy customers. I appreciate your concern and would be more than happy to answer your (researched) questions on importing cars

First of all we are talking about a german car, not american car ... so a bit confused what your point is...

Second of all - the quote i will give is the estimated price that i would be able to sell the imported car once the whole process of importation has been completed

I'm not being patronizing, I am being skeptical and asking some pretty basic questions. You seem to think that you can use an open forum to help you with your business and dealing with well-informed people is one of the problems that many people such as yourself come up against.

Fortunately, the open discussion accrues as a benefit to any EF members who care to follow it.

Sorry, are you importing cars from Germany now? My point is that you imply that the "used American car" has a warranty until it is exported, which is nonsense.

Secondly, an estimate of a price is not a price. Are you giving out estimates on some general used car or do you have stock in the US?

Finally, you mention nothing about delivery times. Do you have reserved spots in containers on ships for delivery in a reasonable period of time?

However as i previously mentioned i have answered your basic questions, and am still waiting for your reply as to which make car will allow you to keep your warranty in switzerland.

I am sure you would agree that me being able to offer cars with a large discount to the english forum users may be a benefit to anyone is interested - even if you yourself are skeptical.

I would however ask, that if you continue to be knowledgable on this matter - inform us how many cars you have succesfully imported to happy customers - where all your obviously extensive knowledge comes from - and finally to answer the questions in the replies above.

I'm not the used car salesman. Let's just say I am on a first name basis with shippers in Toronto and New York, and I know my way around Bremerhaven.

But go back to the thread I mention above and that should answer most of your questions.

It's a good idea when hoping to encourage members of this, or any other group, to part with the best part of CHF100,000 not to start flaming anyone who questions you business. Correct spelling and grammar also go a long way to help credibility.

As i have already stated the time is usually up to 4 weeks.

I have never mentioned importing cars from germany, but from the USA.

I was talking with ticino about imporing BMW -(german just in case)- from the usa, upon which he asked if this would come with a warranty. I informed him that the warranty was not transferable. Warranties on American cars has never been discussed apart from by yourself.

The estimate or quote is a guideline for the customer to see if this would be interesting for him so we can take it further.

Finally, yes i do have guaranteed containers ever few weeks (big problem for most people as there is such demand for imported cars that people are waiting up to 4 months for a container)

i was not flaming anyone, i was told by ratbert that certain german models do have transferable warranty's when imported from the USA. This is simply not true, and was asking him where he got his information from. Apologies for the grammar, i do hope my english is understandable and will meet your standards.

How very degrading of you. I have a degree from a top 4 UK university and worked for 4 years for a well known accounting agency.
I saw a potential in the market place and went for it. With over 15 sales and 15 happy customers i would ask that you do not talk down to people you know nothing about.

Are you selling only used cars, or also new ones?

I noted that a new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 costs from about $80'000 in the US and about CHF 134'000 here. What kind of price would you ask for such a car?

Perhaps I should add that presently neither budget nor girlfriend would allow me to purchase such a car, whatever the price, but I'm still curious.
