Thanks! | | | | | For those of us who live around Zug/Luzern, there's a fantastic cheese shop in Zug - Franky's Cheese and More (Neugasse 23). Cheese from Neals Yard plus lots of other deli stuff.

Thanks! | | | | | it's not a shop but you can collect orders and our Godminster & Black Bomber cheddars.
From their web site We have moved to new premises. Our new address is D4 Park 8, 6039 Root Längenbold
We also have a new phone number: 041 541 91 11 | Quote: | | | | | sorry if I'm asking the blatantly obvious, but are you implying that you are normally at the Wednesday market at HB?
Whereabouts are you and what's your stand called as I'd love to try and buy some of your cheeses. | | | | | Centre aisle, blue tent with a big cheese map of the UK. Inbetween the Lebanese food stall and the new egg man

Anyone who raises the profile of quality British cheese is good news for me as well as for my friends back in the UK who make it! Mr Grapefruit,
Let me apologise (as well as to Mr Dougal and Ms Mathnut, whom it was a pleasant surprise to meet) for my somewhat standoffish demeanour this afternoon and not staying to indulge in cheesy chat with you at greater length, but in my defence I had been considerably worn down by a protracted meeting of which I had just emerged and I was still reeling from the mind-numbing after-effects caused by extensive and extended boredom.
The other reason that perhaps subconsciously pressed me to rush back home was to reacquaint my palate with the fantastic taste it had had the pleasure and privilege to discover at Orell Füssli several months ago and of which it had been deprived for too long. As expected, Rachel goat easily outclassed all the substitute semi-hard goat cheese I had tried to make do with while waiting for my favourite goat's Second Coming.
So thank you again for bringing and saving a large chunk of the coveted Rachel and its cow-milk counterpart for me today, Mr Grapefruit. You can be sure I will be back for more very soon.

Man, thats nice cheese!
I bought some on Wednesday, at the market in Zurich train station.
after years of emmentaler, fondues and budget, I'd forgotten what "real cheese" tastes like!

Tomorrow (Saturday 31st October) we'll be at Orell Füssli English bookshop to help celebrate their 10th birthday. Come by for a drink and a cheesy nibble or 2. I did read somewhere that there will also be live music but I can't find the link so not sure when that might be!
EDIT - live music from 2 pm and a free bar and sandwiches - I think I'll post an event

My stock of cheese is almost depleted. I foresee I will feel the urge to buy an expensive English book tomorrow.

A quick thanks to you Mike for the excellent cheeses I bought yesterday. When I bought the cheddar I was thinking cheese on toast, but that Black Bomber is way way too good for that, so I ended up scoffing it with some nice crusty bread instead. I think you can count me as a repeat customer from now on | | This user would like to thank Slaphead for this useful post: | |

This week we finally make our first delivery of our 10 best selling British & Irish cheeses to the Jelmoli Gourmet factory in central Zürich. I will be there this Friday and Saturday to promote the cheeses and explain where they come from and what makes them best sellers!
You can buy cheese on the day from Jelmoli (same price as from us at our Wednesday market) as well as our 3 best selling chutneys and hand made oatcakes from Perthshire. Hope to see you there!
Cheeses on offer are:
Godminster BIO cheddar
Isle of Mull cheddar
Gorwydd Caerphilly
Mature Wensleydale
Sparkenhoe Red Leicester
Rachel Goat
Duddleswell BIO sheep
Coolea Extra Mature
Cropwell Bishop Blue Stilton
Shropshire Blue
Loads of events and markets coming up over the next 6 weeks, I'll post some of them here when I get a mo. The next one after Jelmoli though is this coming Sunday at the Expat-Expo in Luzern.

Yes, the cheese compartment of my fridge is empty. Again.
See you on Friday or Saturday, Mr Grapefruit.

You never told me you'd got a cheese called 'Lunatic, Lying, Two-Timing Swiss Bint'!
Will you be selling that one at Jelmoli, too?

Note that I don't have any Isle of Mull left, it's all reserved for Jelmoli. I do have Lincolnshire Poacher Vintage though which is excellent.

Okay, maybe this is a little bit unrelated since I know nothing about British Cheese... but the thread made me think of good ol' Canadian Cheese Curds (in German it's supposed to be called Bruchkäse) I have yet to find these wonderful rubberlike balls anywhere. Anyone know if you can get them in Switzerland?

Sorry to disappoint you. |
