| | | [Aargau] Handyman @ your service
Hi Everyone, firstly I would like to thank everyone for the excellent advice given on the forum. I moved from Scotland 19 months ago and at times felt lost. The info on here is of great benefit.
That said, I turned 54 at the beginning of Oct and am finding the job I do really strenuous, so I have decided to go it alone and do what I enjoy most.
I am happy to do most jobs ie: painting, woodwork, tiling, small electrical jobs, put up lights, self assembly furniture is my speciality,
I hope that, if things take off, I can expand this to collecting and delivering from places like Ikea .
I am fully insured according to Swiss requirements.
If I can help you please PM me
many thanks http://joethehandyman.shutterfly.com/

I wish you a lot of success! I am always in need of help with setting up furniture but I think I live too far from you, Basel. Anyways, I believe that you will find a lot of people needing your services, especially if you will also help with collecting stuff from Ikea and other stores!

Dear Joe,
I would like to give the members of English Forum some feedback on your work, but I cannot post, as I am not a member. If you can find a way to do so, please post this for me. Joe did some repair work for me last week. He replied to my email quickly, came the next day and finished the job within an hour. He had gotten enough information from me by phone that he was able to come with all the items needed to do the work. He was friendly, neat and competent. And at his current hourly rate, he beats every other game in town!

Hi Joe,
Do you do any work in Zurich? I have a 20 minute hanging job to do but i cant do it myself. I thought that if you were in the area you could schedule coming to do work for me too but otherwise it would probaly be too far to come for a very small job.
Let me know.

Hello EFers,
I just wanted to say that Joe came by and installed my coat rack and did a great job, no hassle no time at all and now I have at least 3 extra cubic feet to store my belongings. Can't ask for more than that.
Highly recommended.
Best regards,
Landon

Another endorsement for Joe, who came to our place in Basel this weekend and installed all of our lights as well as a few odd-jobs around the house (hanging cabinets / shelves / mirrors). He came with all the right bits and pieces, did a professional job, and left the place spotless. He understands how Swiss houses are put together and knew exactly the right tool for the job.
He's a friendly bloke as well, and was incredibly patient as we ummed-and-ahhed over "a little to the left, a little to the right, no, no, back again!"
Highly recommended -- would definitely use him again and am passing his contact details onto a few of our friends locally.

Thank goodness for Joe!
I had Joe round this week to wall mount our new TV, do some painting, put up some pictures and a clock.
I have to say, he was absolutely fantastic and i'm already trying to come up with other jobs that he can do just so I can have him back for a chat! (This man knows a LOT about Switzerland!)
Needless to say, he did a first class job, with a big smile on his face, and even taught me a handy 'trick of the trade' that money couldn't buy as far as i'm concerned!
I wish you mega luck on your venture Joe, you'll be my first port of call for any future work 'no matter how small'
Thanks, Laurie! | | The following 2 users would like to thank LaurieHK for this useful post: | |

| | | Job well done joe !!!!!
Joe is the best !!! I contacted him on Friday morning, to see if he could possibly be available this weekend. I had a flat full of furniture that was coming on Saturday morning, and the help that I had arrainged had (surprise surprise ) cancelled on me...
Anyway, he PM`d me back last evening and after a couple of messages back and forth said he could make it. Now keep in mind that I live in Basel and he is about 1 hour away. He could have stayed home watching football, laying around on the couch, or just taking a day off. But he felt that he needed to help an EF`er out.
He got there and started to work and was able to get everything done I needed... and more.... He is a very plesant man who really enjoys his work. I would hire him back anytime, for any price . Kudos Joe ! And thanks again.
