Wine is a complex and fascinating subject and here in Switzerland it is often difficult to find a wine merchant that speaks English well enough to have an in-depth wine chat with. My wife Melanie and I have been enjoying and studying wine together for over twenty years and we have discovered that wine, food and friends have been three of the most important ingredients of our happiness together. It seems quite natural for us to share our wine discoveries with you and we hope you will find them as interesting as we do.

Bacchus Wines offers the English speaking ex-pat community in Switzerland a carefully assembled selection of exceptional wines from producers offering high quality, well-crafted wines with an emphasis on value. Melanie and I taste hundreds of wines and we choose our selections from several different importers, "cherry-picking" their best values and eliminating their mediocre wines so you don't have to. Our Bacchus Wines tastings are quite casual and lots of fun and a great way to meet fellow wine lovers...more like a cocktail party really and there is no admission fee. Our target price range is between 10 and 25 CHF a bottle and we offer a wide range of ever changing European and New World wines. Wines are sold by the six-pack and we offer free delivery to the Zurich and Basel metropolitan areas when you purchase 12 bottles or more.
