Good morning everyone,

I just wanted to leave a quick post here to let everyone know that I too had had a wonderful barryinc hair make-over!

I went to see him on Saturday as I had a dinner to go to. I have a completely unmanageable mop of mad curly hair and I left Barry's with a very sleek and beautiful bob. Since then, my hair has reverted to curly, but is now shiny and healthy looking and I am thoroughly delighted with it. Not only is Barry a fantastic hair-stylist, who will be very straight with you about your hair, but he makes going to the hairdresser fantastic fun. Its almost a day out in itself!!!

Just read this thread. I look forward to scheduling an appointment for a cut and coloring before the holidays, if our schedules mesh. I have very difficult hair - a "bad hair" life, if you will - so needless to say I'm reluctant to entrust my tresses to anyone with less than your level of expertise. Hope to see you soon!

I've been to Barry twice. What a refreshing experience to be able to yuck it up with a fellow American while having my hair cut. The social value alone would be worth the price. He's a peach and a good hairstylist to boot!

Ive been here since November 2007 and was relieved to find an English speaking hairdresser in Basel.

Ive been twice now and have been extremely pleased with the results, the opportunity to speak English as well as the professional welcoming atmosphere.

I am so excited about this. Although I feel very guilty as I have been going to my hairdresser here for nearly 3 years but he doesnt speak english (or german very well!) and I can't get the message across that he is supposed to COVER the gray not highlight around it! I am gonna call you tomorrow for an appointment!

My hair turned out just how I wanted it. It meant a lot to have such a great person to talk to also, and in English. I think I didn't even realize I had culture shock or something until I read about it on this forum... I think it makes a real difference for me having an English speaking, funny and nice hairstylist!

Even though I'm almost certainly moving back to the USA in April, just knowing that there is a community like this makes the world seem friendlier.

I travelled to Basel from Zurich just to see Barry because of all the glowing recommendations here. Barry gave me a new, much shorter cut which works better for me than how I used to wear my hair - he's very good as ascertaining what would work for your type of hair and how much time you want to spend styling it. He's also very nice company .

Barry, thanks again for the nice cut - you were right about going shorter, and I've gotten lots of compliments on it since Christmas. Best of all, it's totally fuss-proof and takes just a few minutes to do every morning.

Barry is a gem in Basel. He's a gem anywhere! After months of bad, overpriced hair cuts I found Barry and I can say that I've never had a better cut -- he's meticulous and understands what you want. Extremely professional. I can't recommended him more highly!

I want to add to the praise of Barry! I had been afraid of getting my hair cut here so I hadn't done it since last July. I have had my hair cut by the same woman for 10 years in CA so trusting someone else was a big deal for me. After reading all of the good posts here (and getting tired of the lion's mane my hair was becoming), I rang Barry to set up an appointment. After talking a bit about what I wanted, Barry started cutting...and I love what he did! I totally trust him and will be back again for another haircut. Soon.

A bit late chiming in, but add me to the fan club! Barry cut my hair last week and I'm tickled pink with it. I'll definitely be making the trip again.

Barry, whatever you did to the back of it - I like! It doesn't look that different but it feels positively bouncy.

I'm moving to Basel next week, and i'm already excited to take an appointment....

I have a huge trust issue with hairdresser... I don't go to any since years for a haircut. I prefer to cut myself instead to pay someone who will do a big mess...

But with all those comments, I really want to try, if you are ready to have a difficult client....

Well the time has come and thanks to all my loyal clients I am opening up my own private hair studio. I will be at Falknerstrasse 12, 5th floor.
