Hello all, Well in the middle of opening up my Hair studio I ended up in the hospital Thursday morning(just what I needed now) . After a day and a half and many tests later they decided it was an appendicitis . So Friday night I had an appendectomy, I could have had laperscopey but of course mine was too bad for that so that had to cut me more than normal. I just got out of the hospital last night(after begging the Dr.and promising I would come every morning to the hospital for my IV antibiotics). Last night I hit the ground running(well walking very slowly) . I am going to be officially open tomorrow and doing just a few clients a day as I am still a sore. I look forward to seeing you all soon and look out for my grand opening sometime around the end of May. Cheers for now, Barry

I got a local haircut, and the first thing Mrs Wibble said when I walked in the door was:
"Don't worry, it will grow back..."
I wasn't really expecting to be ravished on the spot, but a bit of enthusiasm would have been nice.
I guess it's my fault for only knowing the words Haar, lang & kurz. My sign language must be fairly sh*t too, 'cause I certainly remember doing a lot of informative pointing.
So... now it's nearly grown back: Can you do repair work ?!
thanks,
(Mr)Wibble

Oh mi god Barry, you are nuts... GET SOME REST!!! There's masochistic and then there's masochistic...
Hope you get well soon to 100% and you better be thanking your lucky stars for the good doctors and pain meds... I guess playing e-mail and computer stuff is easier than setting up the studio, standing and cutting hair
Best wishes,
BruceFan

Last wednesday, I went to Barry's salon. I was my first experience with him.
I didn't have a nice haircut since 3 years, every time it was a disaster. So I was quite nervous to go to him. But at the moment I came in, He made me feel very confortable.
He thinks to keep the hair on his natural way, so it's easy for you, when you are on your own to do the same.
He is very respecful of what you think, what you are looking for and how you deal with your hair. He will suggest you, but he will not impose and push to his way.
He listen, really listen! He also tells you what he will do, how and why... I really fall for him.
For the first time, since I can't even remember when, I left the salon and didn't run to my house to wash my hair and dry them the way I'm used to do.... It was just perfect!!! The cut is very nice, my hair are shinny again and the way they fall, they move....
Thank you very much Barry. Je te serai fidèle!!!

hi Barry, I'm just now seeing that you've opened your own place but that you've been unwell. I'm sorry to hear that and hope you're back on your feet soonest. Congratulations on the salon - I know you'd been dreaming of having your own again. With all the raves you get for your work I know it'll be a big success!

Some of us who ask nicely even manage to sneak a beer
(Oh no the secrets out!)
First time ever I've had a beer whilst getting my haircut, was a good beer too!
Thanks for the great haircut Barry, new place is looking fantastic, but I'm not going into your cupboard building skills haha |

| | | Re: Hairstylist Basel 20 years experience Well, add me to the fan club. Went to Barry for the first time last week (he managed to squeeze me in at short notice, which was lovely of him), and he made a great job of my hair! I appeared a transformed woman by the time I left & my hair looked so fantastic, that I genuinely expected people to stop me in the street & tell me how great it looked!
I wish to say specifically what a good colourist he is (hope that's the term). I have had my hair highlighted for years, but the finish & tone & coverage once Barry had done it was better than any I have previously had.
So, I'll be seeing him again in a few weeks as long a he can fit me in!
- oh & he even called me the next morning to give me the name of an eyebrow waxer as I'd bemoaned the state of my eyebrows & being new to the area didn't know where to go - so thanks for that too! (How nice is that?).
- oh & British tea too......

Ditto to the tons of great reviews on Barry! I had a highlight and cut recently..the color looks great and the cut is spot on. I love the extra texture he gave my super fine locks. Thanks Barry you nailed it!

It's Barry Bump Time again!
If you want to look great, go and get "Barry'd"!!! Not only did I get a fantastic cut, he also masterfully corrected my "oops-upon-oops- -omg-what-have-I-done" haircolor.
Also, if you are driving in from other parts of Switzerland, there is parking close by... and France and Germany are only 10 minutes away for a little shopping.
All in all, a great afternoon! | |
