Tum te tum....
Moved to Zurich and started off in Temporary digs....applied for my residency and work permit which would take 2 months to reach me.
After 2 months I had to move into my new rented place, still hadn't received my permit so went to the office de registered, and then re registered in the new place and explained what was happening.
Told the process had to start again and it would take 2 months.
3 months later and I walk into the town hall to show them I am registered with a Health Insurance company, (long story about them not believing me) and the guy behind the desk casually mentions that my permit is in.

Wooo Celebrations and Jubilations.

No.
The reason it took so long to reach me is because they posted it to the wrong address, or rather they messed up and posted it to the address it said on Permit, which just happened to be a completely fictional place in a town that didn't exist.
Soooooo now they have to start the process over again for the third time and I again have to wait for 2 months...its 6 months now since I originally applied for the permit, good god the incompetence of it all.
O the joy.
