By following good recommendation from the EF members, I have opted for Switzernet Sip phone just for an experiement. I did not use it much but I have invested for the instruments and signed for a contract. Unfortunately for 3 - 4 months I was not able to attend my regular duties due to my personal problem. And I was not able to pay th 9Chf a month for three months. But much before they disconnect my line I just got one invoice for 115 chf with some fine and I happily paid. Lastday for this invoice was 27.03.2011, but I paid before 15.03.2011 Then after some days they disconnected completely and saying that they cancelled my agreement because I paid late and demanded again to pay 219 CHF. When I received this letter I got upset and wrote them asking explanation. They were keep on saying useless bla bla. Finally I fed up and told them that I want to cancel once and for all and asked them to send the final bill altogether. In first mail they said to wait for April and will send the invoice. Later one person sent an email for 219 ChF. I was preparing to pay even it is unjust just to get rid of them but the funny side is that within two days I am getting another letter from intrum justicia (inkasso) to pay 338chf, since I owe some money for Switzernet.
I am just wondering about these peoples way of taking money unjustly. I am sure some of u might have got the same experience from this people. Please share.
Because of my foolishness I paid these people lot of money for nothing and still they harass me. I never had any bad experience with other reputed companies in this country, others are understanding and we can talk to them but not with these people who wanted money anyway, there hot line is only free for 5min. May be they are not earning enough legally for their service?
So from my bad experience I advise other members to be cautions in signing up contracts with some company like this and read their terms carefully.
I have all evidence and letters for proof.

So you don't pay them for a service you committed to and after 3 months they start proceedings? Yes, it's 9 francs per month but still, if they were relaxed with everyone, their business model would fail.

I tend to pay about 40 francs each time I give them something, keeps me going for about six months. I'm very happy with them, it's my only phone (bar cellphone of course).

I have been using Switzernet.com for the last 4 years without problem. As the amount of CHF9.- is small, I usually pay CHF60.- upfront every 6 months or so.

I would recommend Switzernet's services without reservation.

To the OP: your problems are nothing to do with Switzernet, but, as you explain are self-inflicted. Presumably you have other services that you were unable to pay for any we can expect posts on how bad their services are too??
