| | | Where has the sunshine gone ???
Ok so i know that coming from a land of no rain makes me allergic to rain but seriously, does it have to rain so much???
Now on an even more serious note - does anyone have the powers of a god and can therefore change the weather back to what it was about a month ago ???
BRING BACK SUMMER!!! PLEASE....

You're not alone. This evening coming home from work I was thinking I was crazy to be here, cursing this alleged summer, my mind drifting to the horror of November in Zurich. This was brought on by checking the Perth forecast, slightly warmer, less rain....... and winter. http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDW12300.txt |

I think I am the only one who must be enjoying this chilly, grey weather. Particularly after that hell-like stretch of hot weather from mid-June through the end of July!

Um..you're the only one.
This is the end of August. Summer. A bit of cozy, gloomy grey weather is just fine and dandy come late October or November.
But in the middle of August it's just plain depressing.

you've all (nearly all!) made me feel better...I was feeling homesick (for rainy Pembrokeshire ) and depressed and needing a holiday....but hey, at least I'm not alone....other people are feeling crap too.
And now I come to think of it, the weather was worse in Scotland. Maybe Swiss "summer" is OK....

I too was thinking of starting a thread this morning about the weather. Not only has it gotten me sad, is anyone else feeling sick from this besides me? Today, not only did I feel there were clouds over my head, but I also felt the clouds in my head. I've never been so affected by weather in my whole life.

Yeah, I feel the same, another Perthite here. Bring on the 30+ I say.
Nothing like the absence of the sun; gets me down almost instantly. I figured out my buffer is about one day of no sunshine. Not very long!
We need an icon that cries tears, like in MSN.

As for the weather, July was a a cruel tease, that intoxicated us with six-weeks of balmy indulgence and sweltering dillusion. August has seen fit to sober us up and remind us where we really are.
Be glad its not snowing.

If it's any consolation, we are in the South Of France, and the weather for the entire month of August has been dreadful. Dark, windy, rainy.......
Here's hoping for a better September.... |

I've had to put my heating on again this week. Plus I've had to switch into my "winter" gear on the bike.
FFS.
Hopefully September brings something of an Indian summer. If not, I am going on strike....or something :unfair:

Does anyone have any practical tips for dealing with sun-deficiency? There's gotta be a medical name for this condition. I heard there are lightboxes that are truly effective. My therapy has been to go on top of a mountain above the clouds, but it's not very practical to do everyday. I've tried a shots of liquor, but thats counter-productive. Thanks in advance for any the tips along with any upcoming wise-cracks.

I do appreciate the fact that Switzerland does offer escape to the mountains during winter. When I lived in the UK and Frankfurt the winters were unbearable - no chance of escape unless you left the country.
