Hello,

I have been living in this appartment with my wife for four months now and 2 floors up lives a family which is yelling all the time; in their apartment there is a constant noise as if they were moving furniture and the man is shouting like an animal (sorry for the expression).

Now, we are the last arrived and everybody else apart from this family (the man mostly) is quiet. Apparently they have told the guy to stop being so noisy but he doesn't care.

I would like you to advise me if there is a number to call and make the police aware of the situation.

P.S. On the floor right upstairs lives a very quiet middle aged family and I can't imagine the noise they listen to every day. Unfortunately we don't speak the local language.

If you don't fancy knocking on the door and asking, write to your landlord with a list of your grievences. Chances are, other neighbours have already done the same and it just needs a tipping point.

calling the police should be the last resort (except if the noises sound like fighting).

the first step would be to either talk to the family directly or ask other tenants how they feel about it. If nothing comes from it, write a letter of complaint to the landlord.
