| | | Unprofessional/bad manners
I would advise anyone looking for a Job NOT TO APPLY to THE SWATCH GROUP. They HEADHUNTED my husband, he was invited for first interview with CIO and Business Systems Manager. Went well CIO laid cards on table about salaries between Geneva and Bienne. CIO told him that this job although starting as IT Retail Project Manager could evolve, but my husband was happy with that job he had all the experience necessary and willing to travel around the world! CIO happy and said would receive package the following week and would be contacted by HR! Nothing my husband rings then HR director rings back with salary offer which was agreed, this was a friday, she said she would ring back on the monday with date for second interview. NOTHING one week later my husband rings to see what happening. The Business Systems Manager says oh yes you are still our favourite candidate. Couple hours later HR Director finally rings to make second interview! Up to Bienne again second interview went splendid they were over the moon (?). Two weeks AFTER second interview HR rings USA for reference check! That went well. My husband waits and waits nothing, again two weeks go by. He sends an email to CIO, asking if negative/positive. No reply, that was over a week ago. Now yesterday monday, a recruiter rings my husband, oh you have the perfect profile for this job blah blah blah, it has been on our books for weeks and we have not found anyone! It is for THE SWATCH GROUP mmmmmm! same job they headhunted my husband for, but did not have the courtesy to send him an email to say 'get lost don't want you'! Today on the website is the same job being advertised by THE SWATCH GROUP DIRECT! My husband sent an email to the CIO, Business Systems Manager and HR Director asking what was the status of his candidature negative/positive and that was the quickest she answered which was of course NEGATIVE. That is of course their choice I have no issues with that, but it is the total lack of PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT and even BASIC GOOD MANNERS! So beware of The Swatch Group do not believe their blah blah of how they look after people and are not of the anglo -saxon breed as the CIO said, but at least with the Anglo -Saxons they say it to your face. SO BEWARE OF THE SWATCH GROUP......

sounds like this should be merged with Dack Rambo's topic from last week... it fits the mould perfectly!

I am sorry that you have had a bad experience.
Many of us here could tell almost the same story with
another company name inserted. It is bad etiquette,
but it is what it is.

I would have waited for your hub to find another job first, before complaining in public, this is a very small world..
Sorry it didn't go so well. Good luck to him.

Good warning from MusicChick - the watch-making world is very small and all connected, and your case will be recognised by somebody here. Not a good idea if you are at all interested in finding another position. I would ask a Moderator to get rid of your post asap, honestly.

Good luck getting things sorted out, though.

SICKened is a one off poster. Hence the name.
I think what we have here is a case of emotions getting the better of an individual. However it must be said in SICKened's defence that we all have a breaking point. No matter how hard we try sometimes we just want to tell others how we feel. And that is a typical human emotion.
If SICKened does continue to post in this forum then it will be under a different user name (I hope for their own good).
I am of the opinion that this thread should stop here.

Corbets has hit the nail right on th head the most unprofessional part of this entire episode is the OP particularly on an internet forum which is now well aware of someone trying to impact the company reputation. I trust the company has someone employed to monitor these forums.

Sympathy for the OP. Exactly same thing happened to me before, but from another different Company. I have no idea what's going on with those people. Probably their brains have been ground somehow.

HR people suck everywhere, I am confident that Swatch does not have the market cornered there. best of luck with your husband's search.

Hi
Sounds standard to me. Better to apply direct, recruiters are crap and expensive. Their expertise is in copy pasting - in most cases they don't work for "a client".
HR in general here in Switzerland is quite something. I say always that if one day I have a stroke that leaves me with 10 % of a brain there would always opportunities to retrain in HR.
I do not work for Swatch or the watch industry (good for you...) but I think it is particularly bad as it is thriving at the moment, unlike pharma or banks for instance. | Quote: | | | | | SICKened is a one off poster. Hence the name.

Hopefully there are now internet forums like this one. Even in China there's more freedom!

This isn't at all what I am saying. But if someone does wish to work in the industry, such a rant may not help in the long term, perhaps, as there are many in said industry on EF I am sure.

The point about complaining and naming a company on a public forum which is searchable by electronic tools is not the smartest approach of the OP.
I have seen people loss their jobs for similar things in more then one country and don't go thinking HR people don't serach using google for these sort of posts when employing someone.
