Re: Babyjoe.ch beware!

I returned a buggy within the 30 day period to them, and had trouble getting my refund as well.

Re: Babyjoe.ch beware!

I have ordered from Babyjoe a couple of times. Items listed as in stock were not delivered and zero communication received. I waited two months for car seats we needed in order to bring our twins home from hospital and received them two days before giving birth only because I called them and asked them to send a different colour.

When they have items in stock delivery is swift and prices are great; when they lie about having items in stock they don't communicate, take your money and leve you chasing them. Not good.

Re: Babyjoe.ch beware!

So sad that I saw this posting after ordering. I have ordered from this company twice before & paid with CC and had no problem. This time I thought I'd try the prepayment method since I had a good experience before and my order wasn't very expensive. Now not sure if going the prepayment route complicated things?

After not receiving my order within the time frame they gave me I contacted them to find out the status of it. They then told me that 2 of the 5 items I ordered had unfortunately been placed on back order so they decided to ship me the other 3 items. However when I received the shipment one of the items was wrong so I sent back that item and asked if they could send me the correct item with the backordered items when they came in. So far no info on the items and they sent me a payment reminder for the items that haven't shipped yet. So I sent them a message confirming that these items were already paid for & the situation and they responded that they would send the items as soon as they came in. Now I just received a 2nd payment reminder & I am about ready to burst!

Luckily it was not for very much money & I have everything in writing At this point I will probably never order from them again.

Re: Babyjoe.ch beware!

I was about to order from them, good that I bumped into this thread, now after reading it I have mixed feelings, I don't know if I should order from them or not.

The thing is, what I want to order, I could only find at their website!

Re: Babyjoe.ch beware!

I thought I could share my experience with Babyjoe, maybe someone in the future might find this helpful.

I have to say am quite happy with my experience with them. I ordered three items and all of them were delivered on time and as described. Items were shipped within two working days as they say on their website.

At some point I called their help line, no one answered but few minutes later they called back. The person I spoke with spoke English.

Beware BabyJoes

We had heard BabyJoes offers really good prices on kids stuff so we placed a pretty big order with them for all of the baby essentials. The delivery came one day later which is really good.

The thing is that the baby bed was broken I discovered when I opened the packaging. We contacted them immediately to ask them to send a replacement.

Over one week later and we still havent got a replacement and even though they promise to call us back they dont. My wife is 38 weeks pregnant so we need that replacement ASAP. We are thinking to just ask for a refund and then we can get it elsewhere.

So beware if there is a problem with your order with these guys.

They tried to say that they need to resolve the issue with the manufacturer before they can send us a replacement. But why should we care. We bought it from them not the manufacturer, so they have a duty to replace it regardless of what happens with the manufacturer.

If the issue continues is there the equivalent of a small claims procedure. I know there is the Betreibungsbegehren procedure - could I use that against them or is that only for unpaid debts in the strict sense of the word?

That's standard Swiss policy. Maddening but that's the way it is here.

Not much you can do as complaining rarely gets the results you want.

There's a saying that have here which roughly translates as:

"The Customer is always wrong".

Re: Beware BabyJoes

It doesnt take much effort to keep the customer updated and to stick to promises made. And you cant tell me thats standard Swiss policy too. Transparency makes for happy customers.

And if it is standard policy that issues are always resolved with the manufacturer first then there is a clear gap in the market for a reseller that is willing to go that extra mile for customer service and risk having a bit of inventory on the books for these types of cases. Look at Zappos and what they achieved by putting the customer first. BabyJoe has lost what would have been a repeat customer. Plus on the Net Promoter Score they now have a detractor rather than a passive or a promotor.

Re: Beware BabyJoes

Thanks Mirfield. That was helpful. I think Tom1234 is too passive a consumer. He seems like a B2C's best friend/ ideal customer.

I read the link you gave which basically said the site AGB override it if they have AGB and then I read the BabyJoe AGB. It said damaged articles would be replaced "umgehend" and doesnt mention waiting for manufacturer.

Armed with that my wife phoned them and they have now agreed to send the replacement part immediately. As long as you stay polite complaining can speed things up. When you start threatening then things go downhill.

I think you were lucky.

But what you experienced initially was the standard response.

Good luck with the birth!

Not that lucky as we still didnt receive the replacement part even though they said it would be with us in 2-3 days and that was last Friday :-(

Time to chase them up yet again.

Hooray we got the replacement part today. Turns out the arrangement is rather complicated. Babybay are the manufacturer but they are not allowed to ship to CH as there is a Swiss importer with exclusive rights for that. Then BabyJoe get their stuff from the Swiss importer. When you have more than 2 links in the supply chain, its bound to get a bit complicated sometimes. Instead of each entity considering itself as completely independent this might be a good case study for needing to work closer together and having greater transparency across the entire supply chain.

Re: Babyjoe.ch beware!

So, there are a lot of old bad reviews here. However I haven't found any decent stores to get the items I am missing, and the prices in Babyjoe.ch are quite tempting...

Anyone had positive experiences lately?

I have : Ordered a car seat + base on a Sunday. Received the UPH delivery 48 hours later at my door (at 7.30 am... which was a bit early to my taste but I guess I can't complain ) oh and I didn't mention that delivery was free over 100CHF.

This was just a couple months ago and a number of friends with kids have been using it with good experience lately.

Maybe they improved since 2012?

I only have that one experience, so maybe I was just lucky...

Re: Babyjoe.ch beware!

I thought it would only be fair to let you guys know how my experience went:

I ordered 4 items on the 22nd of October. All of them were available in their warehouse.

I had a promotional discount which came with the "Mama Box" - it was accepted, no problem.

I got the package 5 minutes ago (26th), delievered by the company dpd.ch

Everything was in perfect condition, I got exactly what I ordered, everything was properly packed.

I have the orange bill to pay, so no credit card problem.

So, overall, great experience.
