Stolen hooded jumper! Have you seen it???

Hi everyone,

May be a silly thing to ask about (it's more the point of someone going to the gym and then stealing someone else's property that we're annoyed about!) but it'd be great if you could please keep your eyes open for someone wearing the below grey zip-up Quiksilver branded hooded jumper which was stolen from the men's changing room at the Zurich Uni gym the other day!

The hoodie was not bought in Switzerland and we've not seen it here at all so if you happen to see someone wearing this hoodie, odds are it could be my man's so it'd be great to get a description of the person so maybe my man will recognise him the next time he's at the gym (or the person can be approached and asked where he got the hoodie from!!!!). Long shot I know, but funnier things have happened in this surprisingly fantastic country sometimes!

Please help a neighbour
Thanks

P.S. Yep, the theft was reported to the gym staff and no, no-one handed it in to lost property...

If it sold in germany then I highly doubt that there will be only one person walking around with that jumper, which means if ayone on this forum sees someone wearing one the chances of it being your culprit is still quite low...

Re: Stolen hooded jumper! Have you seen it???

In a country with a high population of foreigners and a huge variety of out-of-country shopping available within a day's drive, I can't believe that confronting a stranger about a 50 CHF hoodie that you think is your partner's is a very good idea. If your partner actually saw someone with it on, is there any way he could actually prove it is his? If the (dishonest) guy who stole it actually has it on and your partner confronts him at the gym, it doesn't seem likely that the thief will just say, "Oh, yeah, I saw it on a bench in the locker room and decided I liked it," then take it off and hand it over.

Why not just order a replacement hoodie for your guy, if he was that attached to the stolen one? Problem solved!

It was actually bought as a birthday gift from Australia for him a fair while ago and we've not seen anyone with anything close to it here, which is why he loved it so much. I totally know what you mean though - still, couldn't help but want to vent about it!

But it's an 80chf jumper!!!! No, I know what you mean - it's not taken desperately serious, more like we've never seen anyone wearing the same jumper so if we see it on someone else when my man no longer has it, you kind of wonder...

Totally understand what you say, agree and think it sounds pretty out-there - as I said though, we just gotta vent about it and HOPE TO CATCH THE CULPRIT!

Oh yeeeah, I have complete faith that the guy who stole it would confess his sin and hand it back over. That's one of the reasons I'm in this country - a lot of good-natured people

And btw, a replacement is already on its way *thumbs up*

Thanks for your message!

Put up a reward

Otherwise I'm not interested in finding the hoodie

Good point. I'm curious too.

I expect it didn't come back on its own. Full story, please

Still, happy for you. You two seemed to be very attached

Attached is not the word - it seemed to make his day yesterday, never mind seeing his loving lady and smelling the delicious grilled salmon dinner I was preparing

It's not an exciting return story really, just day #4 of asking the gym if anybody returned his hoodie only to have them present my man with his beloved hoodie (chewing gum wrappers, one contact lense and tram ticket in the pockets and all! ). No idea how the hoodie came back but, him being my typical man who always loses things equating to the world ending, and me being his typical woman who just entertains his wild thoughts with 'yes dear', I like to think he didn't look hard enough in the gym changing room, someone originally handed it in and the staff who he asked about it from weren't the ones who knew about it being returned But I just finish it off with a 'I know, how could someone take it!! Glad you got it back now', and move on

Knowing him, I did actually ask him if he'd checked everywhere (and went along with him everywhere it could've been - washing basket, bathroom, clean clothes pile, DRAWERS!!!) just in case (it's happened before ). Would've been totally hilarious if it'd happened - you guys'd be the first to hear about it if was true

I think we dramatised it enough from the beginning

Ahhhh, hooddies. but it's a chicken and egg thing. Was he a thief before he stole the hoodie..... but then he wasn't a hoodie.... but then....
(confused)

Ahhh, no thief, then my existential crisis is solved. Phew.
