Feldschlossen should be sued for this - warning graphic content

OK, one week in to living in Geneva. Weather be beltingly good, quite warm. I am quite happy with the local beer Feldschlossen and grabbed an ice cold one out of the fridge.

Knocked the top off, took a swig and nearly died.

feldschlossen-should-sued-warning-graphic-content-feldschlossen-wtf.jpg

Some idiot has taken perfectly good bear and mixed it with lemonade (in Oz we call it a shandy). NOT GOOD especially when to a newcomer it is not that obvious on the label. Feldschlossen should be tried for this affront to humanity.

Panaché is there, plain and simple. Better than some Lite beers!!

Re: Feldschlossen should be sued for this - warning graphic content

Serves you right its obvious what it is as it has the words PANACHE on it which any sensible person should know is not BEER. And yes you are correct it is a shandy no need for a warning just learn not to buy without looking

If you are happy with Feldschosen beer then you also have not been here long enough since there is much nicer beers around. You really need to look further north for the good beers

Big market for "panache" here in Switzerland. There's also an abomination of beer mixed with tequila (Desperado, or summat).

I'm not one for using beer as a mixer but, hey, there must be a market for it.

"Panache"should be written on the carton in big bold flouro orange lettering; not blended into the fine print. Nor should it be stored next to the real beer.

I am switching brands. Any suggestions?

Go to Germany and try a Radler. This is the stuff you need.

Anything but those awful "big" brands (Feldschlosschen, Eichof, etc).

Check out some of the smaller breweries - larger Coops stock a good variety of different Swiss beers. My favourites are produced by the Einsiedler brewery (Maisgold, Dinkelbier, Alpenbier, etc.)

Loved Peroni back in Oz and it is now a very widespread and popular beer. Haven't seen it in the shops here for some reason. Might whip to ITA and fill the boot up with some.

Are you sure you are a real aussie, first you say you like Feldschossen which admitted is better then Fosters, now you say you like Italian beer.

I could understand if you said you like Italian wine but their beer is not really what they are known.

If you want to go to another country then go to France and buy "Leffe" in a big supermarket, its a Belgium beer and it is the real stuff not lolly water as it starts at 6% and goes to around 9% depending on which sort you get. It will also be way cheaper then the expensive beer you are used to in Australia

Call me a 'Pissheadstine' but I just look for the alcohol content these days, if beer is over 5% it only takes half a dozen to get used to the taste

1664???

we're in Zurich, and I absolutely love Feldschloessli for hot summer days. if you can find them, try Quöllfrisch or Einsedler. we also dig Baarer, but that is I think a local brewery out of the Zug area.

This is "Trappisten" beer, a whole different kind of beer. If you want to go in that direction, then try Westmalle. It is the better one.
