Mini Rant about Switzerland ( Housing )

Dear all,

I'm pretty sure we all love and enjoy the wonderful beauties of Switzerland. Taking a walk through a beautiful forest or a bike ride along the coast of a lake etc. However, there is a time when I just hate this country beyond imagination..that time is when I'm looking for a new apartment!

Zürich is one of the cities of highest living standards but I think they measure this statistics a bit biased towards the sunny day bike ride stuff, they really should try to find a house here to see how "comfortable" it is here in CH. I'm not even talking about the rents, I accept the prices, but there is no available house to accept(or be accepted)!

As a structural engineering (almost) graduate, it really hurts me to see that they don't give a damn about this issue..making minimalistic cute 3-storey RC apartments WON'T solve this problem.. Ok I could go on forever but it won't help anybody..

Now I'm a bit more calmer (for now)

Maybe it will calm you a bit more if I tell you that Swiss people have the same problem and you are not alone...thanks for the nice words about my country

Next time you fly back from home, feel free to bring ....100'000m2 to small Switzerland ....

I'm sure your patience will be rewarded some day

Exactly my point. Mercer and the likes, don't possibly take real detrimental factors into the quality of life study.

In short, your point is that an overly expensive house in october flog is less glamourous than a gold cost terrace with pergola and lake view in the late afternoon summer sun.
Thank you for helping us with deciding that, we've been wondering for years, hence the intense activity on this forum.

I sometimes wonder why they dont go in then.. to the alps. Put all the tax evaders , criminals, criminal refugees, Dodgy bankers.. corrupt executives , greedy C.E.O. s need i go on. Its not to do with space really.. I live in a cute 3 story .. although in the last ten years we are surrounded by building sites . we will probably get kicked out soon for a new 3 up financed by U.B.S. Or something similar.
