Re: Swiss post and lazy postman rant

Funny you should say that because I did this morning on my way in (8am) which I wouldnt normally do, but thought id check for the reasons you said and there was no post in the box at all...not even junk mail.

I then go down again at say 10.30am and I open the mail box to find post, a yellow slip and junk mail

This is an extremely naughty postman

Sneaky naughty mailman. Sheesh.

He needs some "futi datch" (spankings) for sure.

Re: Swiss post and lazy postman rant

You're still not dealing with the problem.

Go back and complain to the manager of the post office. File a formal written complaint as well. It's pretty obvious what you've tried so far isn't working, and some good advice has been offered here. Get it sorted!

Re: Swiss post and lazy postman rant

Just went down to the post office and lo and behold..... they've lost my parcel...its not in my local post office, which also happens to be the main basel post office and its not in their warehouse.

i explained the situation (again) to the guy at the desk and admitedly he was appologetic, to which i replied it wasnt his fault.

He has taken my details so he will let me know if they ever track it down and also taken notes on the fact that the whole yellow slip situation is taking the p*$$. Like i said I tried to make a formal compliant yesterday and all i got at the other end was an extremely rude woman.

Im going to go down there AGAIN tomorrow and if they still havent found it i'll try and complain to the manager. Only issue is, is that my german isnt that brilliant so its a bit embarrassing having to ask someone to speak english so you can complain but the guy i spoke to today seemed nice enough.

Still dont have my package though

Re: Swiss post and lazy postman rant

Our postman is too lazy to fill out the paper slips, and leaves parcels right in front of our door. We live in an apartment, so it's there for all the neighbours + strangers to see. I am getting really annoyed by this, as more and more companies are reducing the packaging and only put an addresslabel on the original box. I don't mind the neighbours seeing what we have bought, but I think it is only a matter of time until something gets nicked.

Re: Swiss post and lazy postman rant

On the other side of the yellow slip it says you can call them to arrange the second delivery. So I don`t understand why do you guys run to the post office. Just call them and agree on time you are at home and they will deliver again
(I suppose the mailman might finally start ringing the bell when you ask him to come back every time you get the yellow slip )

So have them sent registered.

ITS HERE, ITS HERE, ITS HERE, ITS HERE, ITS HERE, ITS HERE, ITS HERE!!!!!!

FINALLY!!!

Just got a phone call saying its now arrived back in the post office! YAY!

Do any of you think I have the right to turn around and say I don't want to pay the import tax because its been such a disaster? Admittedly it is only 30chf but its 4 days late and has been extremely inconvenient.

Is it worth giving it a go?

It is possible that someone of your family gave permission for this procedure. Just a week ago the post send me a letter where they asked for permission to leave my packets near the entrance. I refused. Check with your post office if such an arrangement exists, if not tell them off and say that you do not condone such naughty behavior.
