| | | Two Snow Shovels Broken
What's wrong with the shovels here? Broke two shovels recently.
Landi shovel has a 3 year guarantee. Great. But no shovels left in stock. All sold out. So they give me a store credit. That little plastic card won't clear the snow.
Second shovel was from Jumbo. Have done a DIY repair.
So where does one buy a decent shovel?
On another note, what would be the going rate to pay kids to shovel the snow for me?

get a sledge instead. Less work, more fun!
Oh, and don't buy plastic shovels. Those are for sand at a beach, not for (frozen)snow.

Having a bit of a hard life lately, don't we?
The thing that will never stop to amaze me in Switzerland is you can't buy summer clothes in summer, you won't find winter jackets in winter and you can't get any decent snow shovels when it snows....

Before the next lot dumps down, get yourself over to Bauhaus and buy yourself a mini, 2-wheel push-a-long hand snow plough for the same money as 2/3 snow shovels - 59,90.
All metal construction, with 70cm wide, galvanised blade which can be flat against the snow, or easily angled in either direction.
Half the work in half the time.
Sorry, no picture found on website.

How about walking the dogs to take a pee more often than usual in which case biological needs could help to loosen the ice | | This user would like to thank jacek for this useful post:

Buy your winter jackets in September and October
Buy snow shovels in October and November
BUT
I bought Christmas things in Beirut and London in August and September
I bought winter handkerchiefs in Athens in November
I bought winter equipment in New York in July
It may be more or less extreme in Switzerland .... strange it is, yes | | This user would like to thank Wollishofener for this useful post:

I have 2 shovels from Landi
Used for 3 years - at a mountain house (think 60cm in 24hrs)
Neither has broken

I've had the same snow shovel for ten years now.
It's had five new handles and three new blades and it's still as good as new.
