I really don't get it why some people who sent me a PM don't reply anymore after I sent them a message back. Is it because I mentioned the fact that I am Croatian after they enquired about my nationality? Do they think I am some sort of asylum seeker?

Ok, let's come down. This is nothing about where you are from. I get these people too and they ask a question, get an helpful answer and can't manage to spit a little thank you afterward. Some people have simply bad manners.

And I don't bother to answer people with 0 post anymore.

Well in my case they were interested in a friendly banter or something since they were asking personal questions. It wasn't about getting an answer about anything in particular.

But I guess you're right people are probably just rude.

That's just plain rude, not you, but the person you did the translation for. It really doesn't take that much time to write a pm saying thanks.

Mind you I've long believed that if you give somebody a hundred franks and never see them again, then it was probably worth it.

I know what you mean, I asked about buying some stuff before from a seller and never got a reply back. It was obvious they thought I was a terrorist with a sole mission of exploding on meeting and having my family raid the rest of their apartment.

I tell people I am Croatian all the time, mostly because I am 50% Swedish and got tired of having to explain why my grandfather dropped the umlaut from his last time when he snuck across the Canadian border into Minnesota inside a case of Molson beer. much easier to simply tell them that he dropped the "ic" from the end of the name when he emigrated to Sweden.
