Making appointments

I've been in Zurich for about 4 months now, have loved it and have very little to complain about. One thing recentley has however, really been getting on my t*ts; trying to make appointments.

We got Sky installed, which was in itself an epic struggle, taking two weeks to get a time for them to come around, then two different visits as they didn't bring the correct equipment. Anyway the other night when it was windy the dish fell over. Fantastic. I called up the company that did it (sound and vision) to make another appointment, to be told I'd be called back with a suitable time. Never heard, and eventually gave up after being told the same thing for three days straight without any returned calls.

We then tried Sony, who have a shop literally on our doorstop. First appointment they did not show up, the second was supposed to be today and as I'm back in the UK my girlfriend took the day off work, only to be told they are not going to come today either as they are 'changing the store around'. We are talking about a very short job here, pointing the satellite in the right direction (spent ages trying to do it myself but with no luck, think elevation may be off).

Anyway, rant over. But is this a trait others recognise in Swiss services or have we just been unlucky?

Re: Making appoinments

hello jonc why not try it yourself, the way i do it is at 12 o-clock look where the sun is then move the dish to about the 9.30 position that then is close to astra 2 for sky, other wise try this site.

www.uksatellitehelp.co.uk

you can enter swiss addresses, good luck.

Re: Making appointments

A plum-line and a protractor will help you to find the right elevation. That's what we used to do when I worked for the European Space Agency.

Cheers,
Nick
