Digitec [9 CHF Charge for Small Orders]

Now they impose a 9 CHF extra charge for orders under 50 CHF. My days of shopping with digitec are coming to an end. Such a**e holes. I wanted to buy a micro SDHC card. They wanted 39 CHF plus 9 CHF extra charge.

At Microspot the price for this card in total was 28 CHF with a pick up in Zürich.

What so if you walk into a digitec store they will charge 9CHF for anything under 50CHF?

Not if it is on stock.

Somehow they did not translate this in English: https://www.digitec.ch/SiteContentGe...ContentNr=3076

"Auf Produkte, die in einer Filiale bestellt werden und vor Ort an Lager sind, wird nie ein Mindermengenzuschlag erhoben."

"No small quantity fee for products ordered and directly avialable in a Digitec location."

Sucks, as you can no longer reserve it.

PS: They mention that they lowered the price of many of those low price products. Do not know if this is true.

Re: Digitec

I have something in stock that is 39 francs and to collect it in Zurich would cost 48 francs.

Needless to say I won't be checked out and I may be changing my shopping habits.

Re: Digitec

Then how do you explain this. My artikel is in stock and immediately available for pic-up. So why the extra 9 CHF?

And as for lowering the price. Bullshit. The same product from Microspot is 28 CHF in total

I didn't realise this was a new rule. Anything I've bought from digitec has been well over 50chf.

But I needed speakers for my computer that came to 15CHF and I wasn't willing to pay the extra 9CHF. It seems they don't have a delivery charge now though? I'm sure they did before?

Because you are not in a Digitec shop. You have to order phisically and personally at the location. As i said, it means you can no longer reserve and have to hope it is still on stock the time you arrived in the shop and you can place your order.

Re: Digitec

Delivery has been free for about 3-4 years now. Which is good - they became so successful that even express checkout in person in Zurich was a nightmare.

But I will be looking elsewhere for my goods now. 118 orders and 26'000 since 2001....

Oh OK. Digitec is getting small minded!!

The bigger they are the more greedy they get!

Re: Digitec

Digitec's charges have been getting worse recently and their response to a customer service request recently was almost insulting in its dismissiveness. I've made a conscious decision to shop elsewhere unless I have no other choice and have already paid a slight premium for a few items just to avoid getting it from them.

yep, they're foregoing the service advantages that made them their initial money

Re: Digitec

I can well imagine it is just a hassle for them to deal with small purchases. As it stands there are regularly queues in their store so they don't mind losing the occasional business under 50 francs, doubly so if it means that customers with large orders will get served faster.

You just said it yourself, you can just get the same item in another retail store - well then go and get it there. What is the problem?

I now almost exclusively shop at Media Markt unless something can be found much cheaper elsewhere. They often agree to price-match Digitec on many things anyway!
