I rented a truck for 2 hours to go get the bed. I had returned it by the time i opened the box.
Anyway I decided i'm going to ask to talk with a legal representative. Im going offer to pay the difference in exchange of them showing me the law in regard of this issue.
I would have still payed more than i wanted because of their mistake but i would have learn something at least for the next time .

PS: I checked the law in France and in the US. Im allowed to keep the bed there.
What does it matter what the law is in another country? It wont change what the law is here

Re: Problem with Pfister

Why not ask your guests to pay the extra 200 CHF? They are the cause of the trouble, and depending on how long they stayed, you probably saved them more than that in hotel charges...

I would suggest that the guests are the innocent party.

Blame lies with OP's inability to be decisive when choosing a bed, and double checking what they've been given; and possibly Pfister for not accurately selecting what was finally chosen - although with all the faffing around, it's not completely surprising an error was made.

Re: Problem with Pfister

How did Pfister actually find out the the OP took the wrong bed?
I really hope he didn't inform them after assembling it.

...Again the exchange thing was just to be fair to them.
I see what you're saying, in that you could have just kept your mouth shut and waited to see what happened. But it seems like you want to have your cake and eat it too. You accepted a bed, knew it was not right when you opened and set it up and used it, and now want them to take it back and give you a new one. You have used a bed, not a blender. They are not (realistically) able to sell the item to someone else.

I think you'd also be allowed to keep the bed here too - the question is, can you do as Richdog suggested and get to keep it for the 199 you paid (check your paperwork for any fine print) or will you keep it by forking over another 200 Francs. Or I guess the third option is to continue to pursue a swap, but expect that will cost something as well.

Re: Problem with Pfister

Listen Twee Twee, you opened it, used it and now want to return it. What do Pfister do with it, sell it as new ????????? i think not !

You have a right of return if the product is unused in original packing (not the case) or is defective (not the case)

The fact you didn't have a truck, no time or no driver is not Pfisters' problem, but your problem.

Start legal action, that'll be fun

If I read the OP correctly, that's exactly what he did. Except instead of asking to just keep the A bed, he asked them to come and get it and drop off bed B. And expected them to do it for free. He thought he was just being fair to the vendor by letting them know their mistake and offering to let them correct it.

Sounds exactly what happened, followed by OP marching into Pfister throwing his weight around, insisting on it bewing their fault and they had to change ort he would get his hotshot lawyer (exact one yet to be determined) on the case and sue them.

Result : Pfister said sod you and your custom, we'll play exactly by the rule book.

I've always found if you are reasonable and explain the problem clearly and respectfully, you get good customer service here and most things can be arranged one way or another.

Re: Problem with Pfister

Update: They will come and change the bed. For free. Mounting included. And they apologized

Thanks for all your suggestions .

PS: Just for your information my direct contact from Pfister was always nice and respectful (and so was I) but was only the messenger. He did try his best to argue with the customer service and agreed that sleeping on the floor was not a good idea.

I wish you all a nice weekend !

Result!

Maybe the mods can change the thread title to "NO problems with Pfister" in that case...?

IMHO they should change it to "excellent customer service by Pfister".

Other than that, +1 to you.

Re: Problem with Pfister [Resolved]

The thing that has actually shocked me the most throughout my reading of this post is that Pfister actually stock beds as cheap as 399 CHF, and, even more prole, 199 CHF.

They never seem to have those when I visit the store.

Yup lol... made me think OP forgot to type some 000s

Glad you got it sorted, OP... I thought what you did sounded reasonable & yes it does seem on-par with what I would expect in US/UK/France/Germany.

They employ people specifically with the job of selling you what you ask for and more people responsible for picking what is on the order form out of the warehouse and handing it to you... with various stages of paperwork stamped and signed along the way, as per usual Swiss anal-retentiveness when it comes to killing trees and covering them in ink for every eventuality.

Their employees failed to do their job successfully.

You lost your means to return/exchange the bed following their mistake.

You offered them the opportunity to correct their mistake at their cost... seems perfectly reasonable to me & probably more than I would have done.

Unless I really didn't like the bed, I probably would have just kept my mouth shut and enjoyed their mistake. If I was them, I don't think I would have wasted the time of 2x employees + a van to exchange the beds either as that would have cost more, including the devaluation of the 399CHF bed than the 200CHF to simply let you keep the more expensive bed and change 2 numbers on their stock list.

Good on you for offering them the opportunity to correct their mistake.

Stupid blood pfister for being so silly along the way
