Re: Where are the lines???

The Coop has them, too, you just have to persevere. In the school/office supply section, there will be 9 kinds of notebooks with a grid pattern and one, lonely, little pile of lined notebooks.

Who knew the world was divided into grid-lovers and line-lovers? In the US, it is only the mega-nerds and ultra-hipsters who buy the gridded notebooks!

Re: Where are the lines???

Yes, you can find them. But most are squared. And the lined one in the shop, will never be the size, or type that you actually are looking for, where as there will be a huge choice of squared!

But squares are so much better for geometric doodling. Everyone knows that.
My thoughts exactly Lines seem to "demand" words, preferably on the lines and sounding somewhat eloquent.

Squares open up a myriad of possibilities for what Paddy G calls geometric doodling (I sometimes design knitting patterns when bored in a talk...) or subdivisions of bigger blocks to colour-code or make to-do lists.

Since I was at uni in the US I always returned after study trips abroad with new stashes of gridded notebooks. I find the coloured covers of the Clairefontaine irresistable...
