Normal bins! Are they for anything?

So we got really told off today by the lady in the ground floor apartment in our block for putting a tied up dog poo bag in a grey bin, she said we needed to use a rabbi bin although the nearest one is quite a walk, just to clarify,,,,, is a ' normal ' bin ok for a tied up poo after all when I looked there was 20 or so more in there, also when I explained that to her she simply replied well this Is Switzerland not UK!!!

Tell her you can't use a Rabbi bin on a Saturday.

You will meet people who from time to time confuse what legally must be done and what they think should be done.

The correct response to "This is Switzerland, not the UK" is "Na, und?".

Re: Normal bins! Are they for anything?

She is probably a silly moo. However, today I picked up several tied up poo bags to go and take to the nearest rabbi bin- and they stunk to high heaven.
With Summer on its way (it was really hot today) it is likely that lots of poo bags loose in the large communal bin will begin to seriously stink- so in this sense she may have a point. How often is the bin emptied? If it is weekly, it could indeed cause a problem.

I got told off here for taking poo bags with poo from an elderly dog who does not go for walks anymore and does her business in our garden (well- did- sadly we had to call the vet to put our lovely Gatsby to sleep 2 weeks ago- as she found it so painful to get up and was in constant pain, aged 16)- I told the Councillor that as I have paid my dog tax, which covers the cost of rabi bins and collection- she could take a jump! I checked with the Commune, who agreed that I was right. So you could check with the Gemeinde and ask, and then quote back their answer to her next time.

You should have told her that it wasn't dog poo in the bag, but the poo bag was the only thing you had to hand, when you found, and needed to pick up, a dead rat that you found outside her door, as you passed.

… she said we needed to use a rabbi bin although the nearest one is quite a walk, …

And if the Rabbi bin is further the Schabbesgrenze, even a Rabbi bin wouldn't do the trick.

Meanoldlady Hickenhöver should know.

Re: Normal bins! Are they for anything?

The Schwyzer solution:

Keep a small covered garbage can with liner bag on your patio or balcony. Put your knotted bags in there, once a day take the liner bag with you as you and your pooch go for a walk. Deposit in first Robidog you pass.

If occasionally you cannot get to a Robidog, as an exception put the knotted bag in with your household sack. But only put the sack in the community bin shortly before the scheduled pick up. Don't leave those bags to fester, it's not fair to neighbors or garbage men.

Re: Normal bins! Are they for anything?

It's a normal grey bin that gets emptied more often than the nearest rabbi bin, funny thing is the large communal grey bins are nearer to her which smell dreadful and are full of dirty Nappies and get emptied in my opinion not enough but this doesn't seem to bother her,, odd :-/
And answering the dead rat reply you've got me thinking there's absolutely noway she could have known what I was putting in the bin she just assumed and accused, sad that one will spy what another puts in a bin when there's so many other disasters going on in the world but hey ho !! Now I know! Be interesting to see how they seperated all the 'normal' rubbish ie enery drink cans from the rabbi bin because our nearest is full

These trash disposal rules are so difficult to understand.
