Poo in letterbox

So somebody posted a big shit through our letterbox fuming as there's a lot of poo around here may I add mostly cat shit by looks of it, but because a neighbour of ours doesn't like dogs AKA Cruella D Ville we get the blame for every big stinking turd that appears and sad thing is we NEVER let our dogs poo near the play area or communal grass area we take them straight to a dog walking area and ALWAYS pick up :-) as I know how frustrating it is to step in an unpleasant unwanted 'surprise'

What would you do?? The poo wasn't even in a poo bag smeared all over our post!!! Wtf think it's either kids being silly or some coward with no backbone that's noticed the shits around and 'assume' it's my cute little bulldogs maybe I should put a note on letter box,,, please no shitty donations if wanting to donate send $$$$ or chocolates and flowers lol. Rant over have a nice week folks x x

That stinks!

Really, that is disgusting! Maybe put a note on your letter box saying that the incident has been reported to the police.
Scare the c**p out of the little s**t who did this!

Nope - just report it to the police. There is no need to put a note on the letterbox - how else would you catch them doing it again?

Buy a Wildlife camera.

Take time to place the camera in a suitable spot.

This will nail the basterds ass to the floor boards.

Re: Poo in letterbox

What kind of person does this and really, someone with small hands who could fit manage to fit their hand through the opening where the letters go to smear the letters.

Absolutely contact the police.

Also, I would be extremely careful when walking your dog. Anyone who is willing to smear letters with poo is very angry and quite possibly capable of more.

Second this.

As seen by the recent poisoning incidents throughout Switzerland, do not underestimate the cruelty that 'self righteous' attitudes can spark. When you know that a neighbor has taken against your dogs, their safety must be first and foremost in your mind at all times.

Go to the police, report the incident. Getting this on record is important. And in your dealings with the neighbors take the high road.

Stand firm, do not let the neighborhood mobbing take over your life - but also make sure that your dogs are exemplary canine citizens so that there is no cause for complaint. The last shows the dog hater up for what she is - and is what will get the rest of your neighbors on your side, an important line of defense when faced with a dog-hating neighbor's mobbing campaign.

Paws crossed that this doesn't escalate.

But first, go to the police.

Agree with contacting the police; not only is it downright digusting, but it is a pretty serious health hazard. Anyone who would stoop to this is not normal and potentially dangerous.
Is there a Swiss law about tampering withe the post such as exists in the UK?

If you do, make sure to not cover public ground. Zero of it.

AFAIK, every kind of shit only stinks when humid/wet. Perhaps dry your mail in the sun.

And yes, report the incident.

Probably something purely innocent. Toblerone's new fish and rotten potato flavored chocolate samples don't handle the summer heat well in your mailbox.

Re: Poo in letterbox

I'm annoyed about this really ( thanks for the support and pms ) we are in wetzikon, think il give it a bit longer and see if anything else happens, just more upsetting than anything as we absolutely do our best to respect the people that dislikes dogs a year ago we moved here and verified with the landlord that dogs were welcome here, tbh they rarely alone we even take them on nights out to the restaurant ect! Next week we go to France and they are coming too!! If anything I spend more time with them than I ever did living in the UK I guess some folks just don't like
I know some will class me as a vegetarian animal obsessed nutter but I've a right to live too, and even more annoying do my best to get along fine with the neighbours but seems like never good enough for the lady at the bottom first our car wasn't clean enough I mean wtf would you even notice if the car of a neighbour needed a wash we drove it all the way from Cumbria UK to Zurich it's going to have a bit of dirt then the 'can't put a poo in a silver bin' why do silver bins have poo bags attatched then?? Then don't your dogs annoy you're direct neighbour?? Made me paranoid so I asked him directly when we bumped into each other and he said no!!i don't know no pleasing some it seems

Re: Poo in letterbox

I don't quite understand why you are leaving this "a little longer".

No one should really have to put up with that. Report to the police and the building manager/company. They have a responsibility to also deal with this.

If things do escalate, you will regret not reporting this when it happened.

+1 for reporting to police. This isn't just a passive-aggressive Post-It note.

Your neighbours probably wouldn't hesitate to call the police in your position.

Don't expect them to be able to do much at this stage, though.

Re: Poo in letterbox

NO, don't leave it a little longer, the police need to be aware of this incident as it sounds like this particular person has taken a dislike to you and may take things further, I would even have a little note book and jot down comments they make to you and the dates, very handy to have a record of these incidents.

Do they actually live in your apartment block? if so might be worth mentioning it to your landlord. We had a guy that lived in the apartment below us and we had snide comments from day one of moving into our apartment, he even reported me for cruelty to my cats which involved a visit from my own vet who said it was laughable and a waste of his time. We moved eventually as it was seriously stressing us out.

Hope it doesnt get any worse.

Darcy

Putting poo in your mailbox is a shitty thing to do. No doubt about that.
But if you have been disposing of dog poo in regular public garbage cans then you are not beyond reproach yourself...

The poo bags may be attached as a convenience, but even the Wetzikon Gemeinde website says that dog poo should be disposed of in a Robidog box and they look like this:
