Re: My welcome messages to new members are NOT fluff

The problem is that many people on this forum, a few mods included, think selling stuff is a privilege and only benefits the person doing the selling, not the people buying.

This odd attitude results in a rule that a member needs 10 posts before they're allowed to sell something, which itself leads to mods trying to ensure the first 10 posts a newbie makes are somehow useful. So it wasn't out of spite that your "fluffy" posts were deleted but because they don't really know how to enforce a rule that, in my opinion, shouldn't be there in the first place.

Anyway, what are you selling?

Let's get some odds:

22 yards: 2/1 - Aussies are getting killed in the Test match today so might be angry.
Naaah, not me, I'm in tip top form! "Killed", lol, you're kidding, right? We only need another 250 runs or so and we have a whole 4 wickets left to get them with! Walk in the park, especially with Peter "Ol' timer" Nevill and Mitch "Mo-less" Johnson at the crease.

You need to get through the mist sprayer, the rolling balls that come out+ the Chihuahuas biting your ankles on this forum. Don't worry. You'll settle in. I look forward to hearing how you've moved on from Eco-cabin - without electricity to Monchaltorf.

It`s the usual feeding frenzy of the `hunter-killer brigade` - more commonly known as the Spam Deputies . . some of us have nothing better to do.

Welcome to the Forum and bloody well done for standing up for yourself

Nope, spam deputies can't selectively delete posts, only totally remove a user and all posts.

Correct - but there is a frenzy of spam deputies alerting the mods to what they think is spam, sh*te, fluff . . call it what you want - a lot of times it is purely innocent new posters - just ripe for spiteful attacks - how dare they not know the ways of the EF . . .ooh did I really say that?

Re: My welcome messages to new members are NOT fluff

Vegan plus Indian shop in Zurich / Uster?

Ahh, vegans - explains a lot .... we've had (and still have) trouble with those, before, on here.

Not noobs (that's why zapping was not possible) - male side of the membership joined in Oct.2014 with zero posts until, what appears to be the female side of the membership, hijacked the account and decided it was time to become all welcoming in one or few words.
Then male side discovered this and her fluff extermination and became all indignant.

Now that 10 posts have been accomplished the market place is all theirs - we await with eager anticipation.

Count yourself lucky, once I received a red blob off a active forum user for welcoming a new member to the forum. You just gotta love the unjust balance of EF, live with it and soar like an Eagle.

It is shaping up to be a blockbuster test series. I am seriousely considering getting coverage on my ipad. Australia have a hell of a batting squad. But I guess they usualy do anyway so no big news there.

Re: My welcome messages to new members are NOT fluff

I actually reported the OP.
When I logged in, I saw like 8 replies to introduction threads in a row in the new post section.
In 999 out of a 1000 cases, this is a spammer.

Perhaps the OP is the exception to the rule, although having to open a thread to explain that your posts are not fluff is a sign of drama queen-behaviour

EF is an independent state recognised by the UN. Its common law approach is that of guilty (and punishable) until proven innocent.

And remember eveyone, spam isn't spam if it originates from Switzerland it is then just "enthusiastic advertising" - which is a bit like rape being called "enthusiastic dating"

I noticed that too but looking at their posting history it was fairly obvious that they were just enthusiastic newbies who were looking to buy rather than sell stuff.
Granted there were a lot of welcome posts but if that were a crime the likes of Sobeit ET Al who habitually welcome newbies would have been banned long ago.

That's nothing. I once had a leaking red biro and you wouldn't believe the red blobs it was giving me

Talking about people getting upset easily. On another forum out there (ahem, ahem, sorry mods) somebody recently started a thread to which nobody replied and now they have started another thread complaining that nobody replied to their previous thread.

yeah, the second reaction -after my disbelief- was:
What the F is Fluff???

Well I have to laugh about it now and nice reactions do help, so thank you as well :-)

Ps: now I'm afraid to even post or thank someone...it might get me another of these fluffies :-)
I'm really thinking twice now, before just posting something....
What is fluff? Dunno, something to do with fluff girls maybe?

Re: My welcome messages to new members are NOT fluff

Hi , again, every one who reacted on this thread.
I couldn't reply yesterday because - my "daily quota" was reached?

So because I can't reply individually to each person (because of the daily quota - I need to read what that is and how many messages I can sent per day)

So here a general reply

So there is a daily limitation to chat with / reply to / members...
Lord all mighty...

That's why I prefer to talk in person, there is no need to "defend" or 'justify' yourself online. With me, what you see is what you get, I don't do hidden agenda's and I'm not gonna tell again that my welcome messages were genuine. What the F is that all about?!? Seriously? Maybe some people are part of that 1 % (not spammers) ...think about that

I'm not selling anything, I'm not a drama queen, and I'm not Vegan.
I don't like to put a label on myself. I'm interested in eating food that is free from meat & dairy - whenever possible.
The statement that Vegans cause trouble -or something like that- is plain stupid - in my humble opinion.

deep sigh...djeezus lads....

Are there actually real life meetings held in public with people / members of this forum?
I hope so, because that is -seemingly - the only real way to talk to people without getting one's head bitten off / unfairly judged.

Alright.

So, someone asked me about living in an eco cabin in Ireland.
I would love to talk about this, but then again, is this the right Thread / section / area /forum? to do this?
