TiMow, all these time I had you down as a woman...but if you are a man, why start a(nother) sexist thread? There are several you can "contribute" to already, and so can all the EF macho guys. You must be very special if woman bashing makes you feel so much better about yourself.

Is it my imagination, or are women posting on forums becoming sillier - or just plain, outright stupid?

Previously, I thought it was just a male prerogative.
I don't know, but the number of people who fail to spot humour has certainly increased. I think it's just earnest younger people joining the forum that does it.

Germaine Greer is considered by some to be a misogynist, so you're in good company.

The single thing a woman desires most in a man is a "Good Sense of Humour".

And yet when a man has a "Good Sense of Humour" the women don't get the jokes

I can't tell if this thread is for real, or if it's just here to troll the trolls.

In any case it's like a self fulfilling prophecy.

Well done, TiMow

Maybe the modern virtual world has now bred the 'trollette' to replace the ladette.

They've not become sillier - men have simply evolved to be smarter

I can see your sort of humour, DK. Sometimes it's funny; sometimes (like on this thread), just dodgy. Women, silly or not, still have to overcome this thinking, hidden in half-baked jokes. The work women do is still relegated to how they are coiffed and what they wear. I am surprised no one has spotted the silly men here on EF to warrant a thread of its own.

Who has seen the premier of the latest Bond movie? And who is aware of the age controversy it raised? I don't want to spend my energy on this thread...For your entertainment, here is what "silly women" have to put up with, even when they have successful careers:

Part of the "half baked jokes" is pure instinct and evolution, men find women attractive (and vice versa) so of course there will always be an element of judging how people look. While I understand that there is a fine line between jokes and sexism, denying that aspect is just lacking a basic understanding of humanity.

Anyway, saying women are nowadays "regulated by how they are coiffed and what they wear" is a huge exaggeration, bordering on outright falsehood. Women have never been more empowered both at home and in the workplace, and the situation is only improving every year.

There are certainly a good deal of older people and established members that are guilty of that too. But then again, we can't all be British.

IIRC it was until the mid 80s that the female employees of SwissRE were required to make the lunches of the male employees.

Was it a man that told you that?
Having just finished ironing shirts, hoovering the floor, sorting out the washing & cooking lunch, I am not feeling overly empowered.
