Was it a man that told you that?
Having just finished ironing shirts, hoovering the floor, sorting out the washing & cooking lunch, I am not feeling overly empowered.

Because those activities are things only women do? Forced upon them by modern men?

I'll admit, I didn't cook dinner last night, but I did spend an hour and half sanding the garden table - and then 1 hour doing the ironing*.

IIRC it was until the mid 80s that the female employees of SwissRE were required to make the lunches of the male employees.
Was at Swiss Re a few years, but wasn't aware of this - although it was an incredibly macho environment I worked in. Please tell more (sorry, but I can't remember the topic of this thread)

What, you aren't a guy?

I, on the other hand, taught my wife NOT to iron, especially underwear and socks.

And she bitches that I never let her cook (actually, I do let her cook once a week or so).

Re: Silly women

My wife will never let me cook or clean or iron clothes because then she will have to do them again.

Women are not stupid. Man sometimes just dont understand them how they think. My wife always take care of lot of things for me.

Yes, I think 2 women can have very balanced relationship together. They can share everything 50/50 and no man to complain!

Quite true that, except that I'm better at washing clothes as far too often she doesn't bother to separate the laundry by color (and she uses too high a temperature), and I end up with pink underwear!

Re: Silly women

where is the problem, wear only clothes that don´t need ironing and all clothes can be chucked together and washed at 40°

When you 2 fight, you can put it on Skype and charge for viewing. So you can also make money from domestic affairs.

Actually in my experience it is the opposite, men are often tidier and more house-trained, especially nowadays.

See, this is a fact that you never bothered mention. I appreciate it. A lot.

Only I cannot get rid of the image of you in pink knickers riding a bike. While cooking.
