Quite true that, except that I'm better at washing clothes as far too often she doesn't bother to separate the laundry by color (and she uses too high a temperature), and I end up with pink underwear!
There's a much simpler solution than having to all the laundry yourself - just buy pink underwear in the first place, job's a good 'un.

I'll admit, I didn't cook dinner last night, but I did spend an hour and half sanding the garden table - and then 1 hour doing the ironing*.

Re: Silly women

I love to pamper my wife when she's had a difficult day at work.

She SMS's me when she's leaving so I can get the hot tap running, swirl around the foam and bubbles.

I time everything just right so the moment she walks through the door, the dishes are piled up and waiting for her.

I got this far and just knew this post wouldn't be about a bathtub surrounded by candles...

All praise the dishwasher!

Re: Silly women

When you allow women to get away with, for example, "Teach men not to rape", "Twitter gave me PTSD" and so on, they feel like they can voice their stupid opinions on public fora without consequences in a feeble attempt at social engineering in order to get their way. Men are considered unworthy anyway ("All men are rapists", "Boys are stupid, let's throw rocks at them", etc) so I guess I could say: Welcome to the club, ladies!

It'll be your imagination. In my experience, "stupid" isn't gender specific. "Rude" shouldn't be, either.

Here's hoping your day improves...

Don't worry about Krash. He was the only son, brought up amongst eight sisters who used to dress him up in dolls' clothes and put make-up on him. He lost his knackers in a freak accident on the netball field, and the rest of his tackle after getting a little too intimate with an overripe plum (if only he'd seen the wasps!). He was locked in a box by his first girlfriend, taken out for show when her friends came round, then shoved back under the bed for the rest of the time. His next girlfriend had a better job than him, the one after that had a more impressive moustache. None of them gave him the rumpy pumpy he so badly craved.

Now he lives in a bedsit, nursing his permanently strained wrist, cursing all the women he's never known before turning out the lights and weeping himself to sleep.

He isn't to be despised. Pity is a much more appropriate feeling to hold towards such an unfortunate specimen of humanity. None of it was his fault. He has had no more control of his fate than a bogey on a child's sleeve, careering its way through the playground on the way to the mudpit.

Maybe you could adopt him as your pet? He's accustomed to living in a crate and could probably be housetrained with minimal amounts of violence.

What do you think?

Re: Silly women

Dear Mr Breakfast,

Thank you for your suggestion. I enjoyed it immensely .

However, unfortunately I must decline as we already have a pet. I don't think the Rufus Hound, as lovely and patient as she is, would be prepared to share her bed with Krash. She is a discerning sort who prefers biscuits and long walks to training up another, even if it would mean that she was no longer the bottom of the pack. Whilst I can sympathise with his variedly lurid background, I think perhaps he should not let his "happy" hand type. It should stick to what it clearly knows.

I don't waste energy despising - life is too short and contains too many eejits; I'd never get anything else done: baby would remain unwashed and Mr Rufus unserviced. He doesn't really have time to pick up his own dry-cleaning, you see.

My sincerest best regards,

Rufus

DB, I don't know you and you don't know me. Ad hominems are fine by me because I am not a member of the perpetually butthurt brigade but it is still unfair and non-constructive. In any case, this is low, very low. I admit that I have strong views about social engineering and feminism but even I have the right to voice them. If you don't like my views, I invite you to EITHER bring constructive ideas to the table (and I'd gladly debate them) OR I invite you to GFY. Otherwise, don't just insult me from behind your keyboard! I'd love to hear your insults face-to-face. If you are man enough, I'll be there! Just let me know
