What a condescending reply Phos.

I know several very tradtional doctors, both in the UK, and here, who have turned to cannabis and have experienced serious help with their symptoms- which were very real indeed. None for cancer- but for Parkinsons, Motor Neurone and after a serious accident making them paraplegic.
But you're talking about symptomatic treatment and there seems to be general agreement that cannabis can help here for various illnesses.

California Dreamer is describing cannabis as a therapeutic treatment for cancer and other conditions and from what little I've read, clinical trials have shown no evidence of this.

No, I just thought of something funny like all those prescription drug commercials.
Do you know, in my entire life, I've never seen a prescription drug commercial? You seem to be a very parochial, un-empathic and narrow minded person, who cannot even begin to understand that not everyone sees the world they do, nor has their cultural (I use the term loosely) outlook. But maybe it's just your writing style.

But I'm not going to lower myself to your sad and pathetic level and start insulting people individually.
Erm... you just did.

To be fair to California Dreamer, they do have a hell of a lot of prescription drug commercials on U.S. TV.

... and incredibly saying things like 'make sure you ask your physician to prescribe this' kind of thing!?! OH was truly flabbergasted when he first saw this.

No it's my writing style. I try to be funny but I have a sarcastic sense of humor. In person I'm generally very friendly, easy going and crack jokes most of the time.

Yes I know I lowered myself, what can I say other than I'm human and have emotions as well and that last post of yours got under my skin. That seems to be the common theme around here lately and I don't like it at all. Which is why I avoid EF most of the time, but today I had a complaint about my book being rejected at customs twice already. So I thought I would complain but the thread took a different direction and yes it is my fault. Anyways have a good evening

I'm anecdotally aware of this, but we're not in the US and many of us are not from the US, so it isn't part of our experience. The reference was made as though we'd naturally understand what was being blithered about - and that, to me, seems to demonstrate a narrow world view.

Anyway, if you met me, you'd probably find I'm just as annoying in real life. And perhaps you just don't get British sarcasm and irony (which naturally is far more sophisticated and subtle than that from America).

Clinical studies have mostly only been approved of this year, so they are still ongoing. I, among many others, believe they will find cannabis to be an effective treatment for cancer. Not all cancer on all people, but probably the closest we will ever come to a "cure". I belive once they find it to be effective the real research can begin. Cross breeding strains to achieve desired cannabinoids profiles, extraction techniques and dosing etc. That's when we will find its true effectiveness. For now, I still believe all those people who have cured their (enter illness here) regardless of the lack of scientific literature because once is chance, twice is coincidence, third time is a pattern.
There is a clear pattern of people healing cancer using cannabis concentrates.

there are a lot of compounds in cannabis that weren't properly investigated in the past and are potential drugs. Still it will end up being a pill or a concentrate or a slow release capsule manufactured by a pharma company, maybe natural or chemically modified.
Btw three is a pattern but it may also be not, maybe there are just as much people who tried and didn't work, but no one tracked those. This doesn't mean i don't agree, if i had cancer i would definitely start smoking, but just for the symptoms not because i believe it would cure me.

Read an interesting article in the UK last week, about how ginger can be of great assistance with some cancers too. Will have to try and find the link when I have time.
Can you get high on ginger? Otherwise it isn't interesting.

Is the 'cancer cure' of which you write like this?

i.e. temporary?

You do realise you're not curing your insomnia, just treating it with something that masks the symptoms?

Perhaps you ought to look into the underlying cause?

It wouldn't surprise me. Many annual rhizomers contain DMT in their rhizome tissues (which is precisely what ginger is). The question though is whether the concentration is sufficient to have any noticeable effect.

In the past, ornamental gingers have been confused for cannabis and hence called canna. Don't ask me how that came about though, as they look totally different. The confusion isn't quite dead yet as I have heard of customs opening or seizing packages marked as containing canna seeds.
