Re: Not enough female public toilets in ZH

Yes thank you for that il try, I knew I wouldn't get a serious answer in here should of known better too many nasty folk hiding behind their computers typing poison lol, it's a bit like googling your own illness sometimes putting a complaint on here! I'm on a healthy living plan which involves drinking 1.5 ltr of water during the day and 1.5 at night so it means I pee more then often, I'm not sick or don't go around pissing myself, thanks for the genuine helpful comments x

Re: Not enough female public toilets in ZH

Maybe the concern of a lady should not be the lack of public toilets , but finding a reason why she has a problem with urinating and finding a good doc to diagnose and do a treatment,

Don't really think I need needle disposal, if you've nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all, wish you a pleasant day. Goodbye
Gosh, I did not mean to say you do, this is just a piece of info I find odd.. the info about 2L per day is also just what it is - information to consider.. if you think this is wrong, please do your own research..

ps drinking enough water is especially relevant for women - if we don't, the skin ages faster.. the things you learn, once you hit 30

Nope it's not that I'm on this special healthy living plan like a detox and it involves lots of water if I stopped with the water tomorrow I wouldn't need to pee was genuinely stating the lack of toilets, God bless those that do have a problem because the first time I've noticed the shortage

In Russia we learn to hold water for weeks at time. Eat bread to make it last for months. And swim naked in frozen river to increase heart rate. If fascists try to invade again, we will send our women and children to the front to fight for the Motherland...... The Nazis will respect our ability to maintain constant bladder control.

Etc..

Are you on a regular water drinking schedule or can you vary it? Don't drink before you go out or at least have less than normal - that's what I do. Half a glass instead of a full glass. Then get back on schedule when you get home.

what size are your glasses, that half a glass would make such a difference?

I think Zurich is the worst place I've been for public toilets, and why on earth do they have pissior or whatever they are called ( those places where it's just a wall for males to pee up ) the other day I was going to my hairdresser on the langstrasse and really needed to pee, absolutely relieved to see a WC only to find it was a pissior ( yet again ) do they think it's just men that pee around here what on earth is it
Never drink coffee just before you leave the house. If I have to leave early I wake up with at least one hour and a half earlier, so I have enough time for breakfast and coffee and...peeing.
I hate to be desperate and look for public toilets first thing after leaving home. And coffee is the best diuretic for me. I know I know TMI
If you go for a shopping session there are plenty of options as most big stores have toilets. C'mon, do a little planning.
(to be honest usually I try to avoid them all together if I can hold it.. )

Re: Not enough female public toilets in ZH

I would never step into public toilets ever. I have seen some things in those places that would turn your stomach and give you nightmares!! Train stations are the worse.

I would rather pay a few francs and sit and have a coffee or a drink and use the (usually) clean toilets in a cafè.

Or, as someone suggested, on the days that you know you are going to be out for a long time. Just drink less water. I doubt your healthy planning thingy will fall apart if you only drink two small glasses of water, instead of a litre.

Also at McDo's or BK, just ask someone for their bill with the code on. Loads of people have them just sitting on the tray. And don't even know there is a code for the toilets on it.

Re: Not enough female public toilets in ZH

I have to admit when I came here (although the other side of the country) one of the first things I saw was free, usually clean, loos.

I don't drink much water at all but I am not someone who can wait ages if I need to go and I have kids that need to go at random times sometimes.

France I find has a much worse public loo issue than here, and it's sad people are teasing because it's not really funny is it?

But me saying to friends, OMG they have free loos here with seats and paper really did show the difference between France and Switzerland. Maybe some would never notice it though

I have just googled this. There seems to be a number of candidates for this title, but I'll look no further.

If you're in need of a loo in the station, just find a train that's not due to leave for a while, hop on (or just board normally; it's up to you) and use one of the toilets.
