I would just like to have a go at all the pot smokers and potheads in Switzerland. I am SICK of having used marijuana smoke puffed in my face when I'm walking down the street!! I am a non smoker and hate cigarettes anyway, but I can tolerate them... each to their own. My husband smokes and I have no problem with it when he smokes outside. What I do have a problem with is having to inhale an illegal substance with no say in the matter........ It p**ses me off.... And what's with the police?? Don't seem to give a damn huh? Fastnacht this year was full of pot smell and all the people seem to get is a bit of a smack on the hand... May as well make it legal then! Still p**ses me off that I have to breathe it though.. I hate the smell and I always will. It's my air too you know!!!

Funny that. When I'm walking behind someone like your husband I want to take their cigarette and put it out in their eye. I don't mind the pot though.

I think the smell gets me, but maybe your right, it could be a little of both. My problem with smokers (pot and cigarette) it when they do it, it effects you when you breathe in. I seems crayz but I don't care if someone takes other drugs as much because I don't become effected by it. If someone takes esctacy for example, it's in their body and theirs alone. Whereas cigarette smoke gives you cancer and pot makes you stoned and I don't want the effects. Does that make more sense??

That is a personal question If you must know then I am a 100% non smoker ie. don't smoke pot or cigarettes. I generally prefer pot smokers to ciggy smokers.

It's not that... my lungs resent it and I really have trouble breathing!! I really do hate the smell! How often do you drive past a paddock that's been fertilized by pig and cow sh*t and breathe in and go 'Wow!! That smelled great! I love cow sh*t!!' ..... Not often. And if you do then there's something wrong. I can't stand the smell of pot. It stinks and might I add, just because my husband smokes, DOESN'T mean I like it. If he smokes right next to me I ask him to move away a bit.. I just don't want to breathe smoke in. Full stop.

It's your air too, yes I agree, and a pot smoker's too, and mine, and everyone else's, fact of the matter is that if they want to smoke a joint outside and you walk by you're going to inhale a (very) little, big deal. At least it's not a big fat stinking cigar which causes 10x the amount of smoke and smells foul, but hey, cigar smokers have a right to smoke outside too. Do you also complain every time a stinky bus or truck drives by? If it bothers you that much perhaps you should consider moving away from a "major" (for Swiss standards) metropolitan area. Fact is that once you are *outside* you don't have control of your surroundings, when you're *inside* the confines of your own home hopefully you are in control, deal with it.

Being Dutch I don't understand what the big deal is with making pot illegal... smoking a pack of cigarettes a day or downing a six pack a day is probably worse for your health and those around you (loved ones in case of alcoholism).

I only smoke pot when I am drunk. Then I write a movie script, and invent three things... It is better than alcohol. We all know alcohol is the root of all evil. Go Pot! [disclamer: I am drunk]

I would hardly call Luzern a major metropolitan area. I respect your view, but to me cigar smoke is just as bad as pot smoke

Anyone who was an innocent bystander in a closed-quarters-fart accident knows that the most dastardly thing in the world is not the wedgie but the low flying stealth killer-fart in a packed tube or elevator. It is not only the smell that punctures the very fabric of the universe and violates your nasal organ in ways it was never meant to, but the feeling of helplessnes, the inevitable doom of inhaling the poison until the door opens. There is no escape, there is no relief, the way out is shut and you are constrained by the very beings who suffer the torture with you. In your very own personal hell, those few minutes until you reach the central station or the 12th floor stretch into an eternity where time and space are no longer bound to their cartesian limits and the three dimensions that we percieve catastrophically collapse into a singularity of all encompassing putrid cacophony. Then when finally the gates of gehenna open and you half consciously stumble out into the tranquil, pristine air you realize that your wallet was stolen, somebody felt your behind and that maintenance guy who had pounds of dirt on his shoes has just stepped on your brand new pair of John Lobb's.

Sorry everyone, I thought this was a discussion not the sarcasm awards. ElJeFe... perhaps this will make it clearer. Maybe I should have put an 'and' in there somewhere. I get it. By the way, perhaps you've missed something in the fact that this is not a debate about traffic, it is someones opinion about wanting the choice to breathe what they breathe. Sorry if you have a problem with my opinion.
