Ok, not the world's most important thing, buuuut....
I've been desperately wanting to see the new Bond film since it came out. All my work colleagues went to see it and I sent Mrs Boris instead to give her a night off. Most the cinemas in town have stopped showing it, but luckily, the Pathe cinema at Westside (involuntary gangsta salute) are still showing it three times a day. The first showing is dubbed in German and the next two are in English with French and German subtitles. Except they aren't. And they told me the website is not wrong and that it says it's in German at 21.15.
Oh, but wait.... http://www.westside.ch/Cinema/50431....tDate=20081230
Would have been happier to have not made the trip over there to find that out. I just got rather annoyed by the 'No, you're wrong, not us.' Except it was them.

To be honest, it is not that good....
The director of the film though is Swiss, now that's a useful bit of info I am sure that you are glad to have found out |

Heard the same from many.
Sad that they tried to push off their mistake on you.
Sadder is, the website is still wrong!

I haven't seen the movie, but I trust Maddox's review: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse....tum_of_phallus |

Doesn't matter -I'm still going!
I'm more of a fan of the books than the films, so I don't expect all that much anyway.

They need to get back to the formula i.e. plenty of gadgets and a soaring rendition of the theme tune over an action sequence. As it is I rank Jason Bourne far higher than James Bond.

This last film threatens to ruin the whole Bond franchise. Whoever was involved with this should be shot. They bring back plots involving megalomaniacs with a barely plausible evil plot, loads of gadgets and chicks in skimpy outfits.

I'm guessing half of you lot are Roger Moore fans.
The film was awesome. Anyone who'd read any of the books would recognise the character easily.

Arghhhhh!
What I really still don't get used to, is that they stop the film just in the middle (film pause)...!...why....??
Does anybody know any Kino that does not do this....?
I would be very happy whith a tip like this.

Only thing I don't like is Judi Dench...or rather her omnipresence in it. It's like she has a contract to appear a minimum number of minutes in each movie.
Also I miss the gadgets, especially the cars having stupid things flying out of them. But as the cars only seem there as product placements I feel it might be the end of that.

I would be very happy whith a tip like this. | | | | | The cinema I went to doesn't have an intermission (Pathe at Westside, Bern). Last night was the only time I wished a cinema did. Shouldn't have had that beer beforehand...

i was going to boycott Mr Craigs appearance as Mr Bond, as i really liked Piers. Then it so happened that I *did* see it, and was pleasantly surprised. The story seems to have gone back to the beginning- James loves a girl(!) doesnt just sleep with her.. more i will not say for those who haven't seen it.

Now I am glad to know that there are cinemas that don't have a break...Very good...!
And what Colonelboris said it's true....That happened to me in the Quantum of Solace (the film didn't restart in the same point ) "From previous threads, and my own Mrs' experience, they tend to stop in the middle of a scene and don't always restart it in the scene, let alone at the point they actually stopped it at." |

Sorry, but...
James Bond is the d*gs kn*b and Daniel Craig is the best bond since...
Well, since James Bond really: George Lazenby, Sean Connery, Roger Moore.
My wife thinks Daniel Craig has big ears.
Which reminds me of a joke:
Do you know why elephants have big ears?
Because Noddy wont pay the random! | |
