My Orange bill

Almost 200 CHF ya thieving buggers and its almost entirely down to data roaming charges; So now I've disabled it once and for all.

Watch out chaps, the charges creep up on you very quickly especially with data binging devices like the iPhone. Downloading a google map in downtown Mulhouse is almost as expensive as buying a street plan from the newsagent.

That reminds me of a joke:

How do you turn a duck into a soul singer?

Put it into the microwave until its bill withers

Re: My Orange bill

My Orange bill is also high every month and I need to go in and find out why. I'm being billed an extra 70 - 80 CHF each month for MB/KB received/sent each month when I'm no where near the 10 G I'm supposed to get and I am never on wireless, only the 3G. Maybe I don't understand how it works - can someone explain?

I feel cheated because the girl at the Orange store said she "had 3 email accounts she checks all the time, is always on the internet and always on You Tube" and has "never paid for extra usage"...but I'm always paying more when I'm rarely on the internet, never use You Tube and check my private email on it maybe 3 times a week.

Stupid phone bills!!

I have an iPhone that I use extensively for web surfing & email reading, and never go beyond 250 MB / month. If you have additional charges make sure they are not caused by international roaming (either when travelling but also when close to a border).

How much did they charge you per MB?

Would anyone be interested in a 19 cts per 1024 Kb offer with no monthly fee?

Re: My Orange bill

I have no idea how much per MB, I don't have the bill in front of me.

As for the roaming, I have it turned off all the time because I know that those fees add up.

I would protest these charges, because it seems like they placed you on the wrong contract and have not given you a data allowance. If you're on the special iPhone tariff you should get about 1GB a month (which is plenty in itself), however if you're paying domestic rates per MB, then the 70-80 CHF sounds about right.

Orange CS are usually pretty helpful, I would give them a call and claw back the money.

HOLY CRAP! I just checked my bills and I have one coming in the mail for 1800 CHF. Who gets a phone bill for 1800 CHF?!?!? You would think they would contact you if you went from 200 CHF to 1800 CHF and ask if these charges are correct.

I just called them and they never changed the plan from when the new contract was signed in November, so I should be getting a good credit soon!

Thanks guys!

Re: My Orange bill

Hey! I got a whopping bill from Orange for December as well - TWICE!! The first shock was bad enough, then two weeks later I received the another bill for the same amount. Fortunately I had the presence of mind to run through the items, check that it wasn't a past-due notice, and conclude their invoicing system must be working overtime to catch up after the holidays. They were very good about acknowledging the error (apparently I wasn't the only customer who'd been billed twice for the same month). If you suspect you may have received a double-whammy too, call them.

Re: My Orange bill

I received my bill last week for December. I went back to Ireland for Christmas and got charged 95CHF for sending about 10 SMS's's's's. They also charged me for turning the phone on in Ireland.

I'm going to stop there because my list of things that have annoyed me about Orange is practically endless and I'd probably get worked up and pop a vein or something.
