Re: Absurd Swiss prices

i had a moment this morning... i changed my sat dish and cant find my decent sat finder, only a crappy one. 50M from me is a sat shop, i went to ask them how much to align the dish.

dish is mounted and connected and i currently have a 50% signal just need the fine tuning with a good sensor...

after waiting some minutes before even he looked up from his brochure, the cost would be .................

300chf for about 30 mins eeeekkkkkk!

exactly...

anyway i put the tv in the back room, played around for about 20 mins without using a sat finder and going by the on screen meter from the box i have 100% strength and 90% quality.

think the 300chf will go towards my staff and a charity donation instead.

Re: Absurd Swiss prices

I went to buy a stool/storage box last week at Fly.

The prices were ridiculous - 30chf - and then I got 25% because the cashier took the "Christmas discount" off it (most expensive item) instead of the item it was meant to come off.

I feel utterly ripped off.

Did you buy that to store your "race" car?

Re: Absurd Swiss prices

Mobile phone tarifs:
Of course, we all already know this one, but it was bought into sharp relief again yesterday for me.

I'll be spending a lot of time in the UK next year, so I thought I'd look to get a SIM only tarif from my old provider t-mobile, as I still have my old UK number with them & have a spare smart phone.

300mins/5000 texts/250mb data - £10 pcm

My current orange tarif is 90mins/100txts/1gb - Sfr 55

Re: Absurd Swiss prices

Discovered by chance: 1st layer cold underwear, same exact brand and size, in CH (SportXX) 99chf, in DE (Intersport) 54e (minus taxes ~45e). I was so surprised about this fact that, for an equivalent of the 99chf, I then proceeded to buy the underwear, a fleece and some snow socks from Intersport (and btw, same exact socks which were 12e in Intersport I had already bought from Ochsner Sports for ~25chf).

Wow. That definitely qualifies as something I would *not* want to store!

I always flush mine away.

Weirdo.

3m power cord with 5xoutlets = 39chf. Really?! (bottom shelf, pretty well hidden, a different make of 3m power cord with 4xoutlets = 6chf)

Re: Absurd Swiss prices

Here's a random one....

A cooked Haxe at one of the 'warm fast food' counters of Migros (i.e at Aeschenplatz in Basel).. is about 10chfs (I think.. )

So today, with more than usual amount of cooking time available.. I thought I'd have a go at cooking a few Haxe at home..

1 uncooked Haxe at Migro butcher's counter upstairs at Aeschenplatz... 41chfs

41chfs... For a pork knuckle...

You Haxe laugh.. (sorry)

Has anyone mentioned the price of plain old 3% hydrogen peroxide (97% water)? 10chf for a 100 ml bottle versus 75 cents for 16 oz (473 ml) bottle in the US. That's 63 times the price. I guess H2O2 bottle fillers must make quite the salary here?

You know though, it is a chemical you are talking about. Buying a small bottle of Aquafina costs more then a 1.5 liter bottle of any of the Swiss bottled waters.
