Trying to find sandals for my daughter

Seeing as the weather is getting warmer my daughter needs some new sandles, she just turned 8 and she wears between 35 and 36 she feet are very narrow, i went shoe shopping on saturday with her and couldn`t find 1 pair of sandles for her also they stop selling girly princess ones at size 34, does anyone have any experience, or advice where i could buy some sandles for her.

I had to buy her some adult trainers a few months ago, but the adult sandles are not suitable for her.

Thanks

btw she pinches my socks aswell lol

Re: Trying to find sandles for my daughter

Try an Ochsner Schuh, if you have one near you. They seem to have a good range of kiddies' shoes in all sizes.

We're still only in the market for shoes of the size 24-25 range so admittedly haven't looked at anything bigger yet.

Re: Trying to find sandles for my daughter

Hi Sutter, I know exactly what you mean, although my daughter is also 8 she has small feet but doesn't want the really baby looking sandals. I went out a few weeks back to most shoe shops in the area and found only one pair in a sale that were ok for by the pool but not for going out. Don't know if possible for you but I have now resorted to checking out www.next.co.uk getting family in UK to order and post them to me, they have all the designs she likes and normally they fit ok. Also works out quite reasonable even with the cost of postage.

Thanks, but she really needs to try them on before i buy them for her, also depending on the cut she is either a size 35, or 36.

Re: Trying to find sandles for my daughter

Where are you looking?

I've found Walder to be very helpful. Here's the link to their shops. There's one in Arbon. The one in Zurich is very good.

If you fancy a day out in Zurich, near the lake, there's a small shop in Seefeld called Lolipop shoes. Excellent service, but sometimes you have to wait if there are other customers there. They take their time and make sure you really buy what fits properly. Their shoes cost an arm or a leg, but can be worth it in children's shoes.

Botty in Zurich has good service too. If you're looking for cheaper options, or just something for the playground/sandpit, I'd recommend going there.

Tschumperlin (I'm not sure I got the spelling right, sorry). Was looking for Velcro shoes and found them there at the children's section (size 37 for me!).
Nice sandals too.

Yes Walder i have bought shoes from them before also cost a arm and a leg, and seeing as she will probably need a new pair in a few months i don`t really want to pay a fortune. I was in Botty in St.Gallen on saturday, but they didn`t have anything for her either

Re: Trying to find sandles for my daughter

For easier-on-the-purse sandals, try an MMM Migros. I saw a couple of pairs there for children that I almost bought for myself as they looked sturdy and nicely designed. One was in beige and another pink.

Re: Trying to find sandals for my daughter

My son is 8 and has a size 37 or 38. After 35 they fall into the teenage category in many ranges but some brands do bigger sizes. I think you will have to go for velcro and try shops that do good brands but reduced?I'm a size 41 or 42 and that isn't so easy "on the continent" either. No problems at home though.

When will your son be 9yrs old my daughter turned 8 in March, just curious, and what size clothes does he wear please my daughter wears 11yrs to 12yrs, she is the tallest in her class, and last week she was at the Dentist and the Dentist told me she had teeth of a 10 yr old.

Yes velcro seems the only choice, but they are not nice and she pulled her face when i showed her 1 pair (i guess she as a mind of a teenager aswell lol)

hi there

i understand your situation as my daughter has the similar problem. she is now 11 and has very long and thin feet. actually we bought sandels for her from vogele shoes this week. they had a sale as well. for her thin feet i found good sandels with broad straps at the front, and they are also not very expensive. try vogele shoes, i am sure you will find it there. in vogele they have the kids shoes/sandels size until 38 size so its an advantage, sometimes even i bought kids sandels for me as well. very plain designes and reasonable.
cheers

Re: Trying to find sandals for my daughter

Just buy a pair, any pair that fit her (from stores as suggested above) and then let her "princessfy" them.

Or get her a pair of those crimes against fashion "Crocs" (unfortunately, sold everywhere) and decorate them with "Croc Charms" (unfortunately, also sold everywhere).

Tried these on her and they are also too wide for her feet, also heard horror stories about them

Why waste time and money when you already have suitable material in your house to make your own sandals, Mrs Sutter?

Re: Trying to find sandals for my daughter

We are still size 24 too, so no real advice. I found BAMA shoes at home though, very very good, not too expensive, I think they are German. I bet they get imported to Switzerland, their site says so. My daughter's feet are narrow as well since she is a bean pole too and Elephant shoes were way too wide, bulky, not very flattering and so expensive. Bama are healthy for kid's feet, so I would not go for the cheapest shoes even though they grow out of them so quickly..If you buy cheap shoes, you can always insert orthopedic BAMA insoles, they are great, I wear them, it makes a huge difference. I am not sure if they do the princess shoe version though, they might. The velcro mania is strange, I know it makes putting shoes on easier, but don't children know how to tie or buckle their shoes?
