Went to Pet Shop Boys concert last night which was held at the Härterei Event Hall near to Escher Wyss Platz. Even though I am not a devoted fan of the group I really appreciate the fact that the know how to make good music and I enjoy going to their concerts...

The show was super like always BUT the place in which was held is a total disappointment. The place once you get in at first glace looks ok but only after you've paid attention to the dj music coming out of the speakers do you realise how bad the sound system is (and the whole sound architecture of the building) You immediately start thinking: "probably when the band starts playing it won't be that bad..."

BUT IT IS! Let alone the ventilation which is insufficient and the stage which is too small!!!

And yes i can officially say that the Härterei Event Hall is one of the worst event halls in Europe...and I've been to some...

The people responsibe at Härterei should be ashamed of theirselves for providing bands like P.S.B (and to the crowd attending the concert) such a poor quality of equipment... SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!

Better spend your money to a air tickets and hotel in order to attend a concert abroad than go to Härterei!!!

It's also called the Maag Event Hall and I totally agree; it is the worse concert venue I have ever been to.

I forgot to mention that twice during the concert the smell of burned cable was quite overwhelming for a couple of minutes... so not cool...!

Yep I can agree, i was there, second gig I'v been to there and both times crap crap crap. The sound is terrible, stage too small crammed in the corner and no atmosphere.

I've not been to the Härterei Event Hall, but can honestly say the St Jakob Arena in Basel (where the Swiss indoors tennis is every year) is appalling. I would avoid like the plague. Crap seating and dreadful acoustics. I do some security work at a number of concerts and I felt very sorry to all the people who came to see Bob Dylan and paid 200 CHF+ for the privelege. Absolutely shocking.
