Cablecom Cold Calls

More of a resolved complaint than a real complaint.

For the past few years I would come home from work to see the "Missed Calls" light on my phone flashing. Cablecom had called while I was working. They would call every single weekday until I happened to be at home to answer and tell them I wasn't interested. The calls would then stop for a couple of months then the cycle would start again.

Apparently, even though I have "no advertising" on my telephone directory entry, Cablecom can call me as I am their customer (the building has Cablecom TV and I have no way to opt out).

So anyway. A couple of months ago I changed my answer machine message to, "Hello. <blah blah>. If this is Cablecom calling then please hang up. I'm not interested. Otherwise leave a message."

About a month ago I got missed calls from them for three days, then nothing since.

I think they might have got the message

Re: Cablecom Cold Calls

Oh the irony...everytime I try and ring their "helpline" I can't get through. Where do I sign up for the cold calls?

Re: Cablecom Cold Calls

a good one, when accosted in the shops by the cablecom people, is to simply say "I have a Dreambox".

Don't do this on the phone, though.

Re: Cablecom Cold Calls

I used to have problems with cold calls. So I cancelled my landline. No muss, no fuss. I pay a little more for my mobile now, but not having to pick up the phone to some intolerable Cablecom Grëuzi is priceless.

Haha quality , i'm going to try that next time i'm in MediaMarkt.

I've never had a single cold call though telephone-wise, I must be lucky.
