On the other hand, if math is considered a tool of science, then it is a part of science. But most of math is not like this.

Now I am pedantically arguing with myself.

I need a mirror.
I'm just going to sit back and see who wins -- Good HashBrown, or Evil HashBrown.

I dont like statisticians
That depends. One in three statisticians are said to be kind and one in five are good looking. So what are the chances of dating a statistician who is good looking and kind, I ask ya?

You're asking a probability question, not a statistics question.

Going back to where we started, probability is to statistics as mathematics is to science.

I love it when we go full circle on this pedantic forum.

Probability is a tool of statistics, and mathematics is a subset of science.

I wish I could draw a Venn diagram in these response boxes ...

Intersect, not a subset of.

We're back to the "is mathematics a science" point again ... full circle?

(Pedantically, I have to point out that it would be an "intersection", not an "intersect", if you were correct.)

This might help settle the "is mathematics a science" argument.

Its like, Americans spend over a million dollars to invent a Pen that would work at 0 gravity for its Astronauts. Russians used a Pencil.
Although a good story, it's generally considered to be an urban myth these days.

"Like a reservation." or possibly "Some kind of reservation."

Or don't you know what you were trying to say?

Pedantically, I choose to point out that you didn't HAVE to, you chose to.

And even with the correction, "...mathematics is an intersection of science."
still doesn't make sense.

Correct, in its original context (referring to Venn diagrams) the statement should have read "mathematics intersects with science". But my argument says that that is invalid, in any case.

Bored now, going off to find some other entertainment.

That's not the correct correction.

But we need a new thread.

Once you define the source population and the sample size,
we'll let you know...
