stop sticking receipts on my gipfeli!

ok so I am new to the world of recording your every purchase for tax reasons but I find you need pretty quick hands at the local co op to avoid getting a 60 rappen purchase quickly validated with an A4 receipt and a 10cm piece of sticky tape....

Eat half of it before you get to the cashier, I bet you a million dollars they won't want to even touch it.

I just give the thing back saying "isch guet, danke" - "non c'est bon, merci". I never have to take it home.

Beside the detail that receipts in Coop, Migros, etc are not A4 but A7 , you if asked about the receipt ("Quittig" in Swiss German) should reply by "Nei tanke" or "Nei merci" or "no, thanks", and if not asked should tell the cashier "kei Quittig, tanke" or "kei Quittig, merci" or "no receipt, thanks".

Sarcasm in Switzerland falls heavily to the ground where it is swiftly swept up and deposited in Lake Zurich.

I am quite surprised they do that. I have never experienced it. Put the gipfeli in the thin polythene /paper sack, they are usually kept /hanged near the gipeli baskets. This will avoid the stickies being sticked onthe gipfeli directly. or simply dont hand over the gipefli to them, just show them from a distance then they usually hand over the reciepts to you

receipts at migros and coop are neither A4 nor A7. they come on 8cm wide rolls, and the lengths vary depending on the amount of items purchased.
Call me a "töpflischiiser" but you can't just toss around format names like that... I mean, c'mon.....

Re: stop sticking receipts on my gipfeli!

Yesterday at Migros I bought a large tomato (yes, I'm here alone) and put the price sticker on it. At the till, she took the sticker off and threw it away for me.

Usually, I put all my fruit.veg in one of those clear bags and put all of the price stickers on the outside. Sometimes they stare at the bag for ages to ensure I haven't snuck something else in there, sometimes they don't.

Yeah, I used to do that too until I was once made to pull EVERY SINGLE ITEM (a few different types of mushroom in the one paper bag) out and made to weigh it all out separately, to make sure I hadn't shorted Migros by a few rappen.

It was during the lunchtime rush, in the middle of Zurich city. *embarrassment*

Now I just contribute to the global waste problem by taking everything in separate bags. :\
