| | | General Cablecom Gripes thread....
Is anybody else experiencing problems with viewing films in the digital cinema from Cablecom (the one where you pay 6CHF per movie). I tried ordering two films last night both of which failed to load and then when I called Cablecom they gave me some rubbish excuse about the company that provide this channel to them have cancelled their contract with Cablecom. Cablecom are still advertising the current films and this channel on their website so I feel like I'm being fobbed off!! Does anyone know if there is any truth in this??
Also, why are they allowed to still advertise something that they are unable to provide?
I wasn't sure if I should post this here or under TV so moderator please feel free to move it |

I don't know what to say about your complaint - sounds fairly typical to me. That's why I refused their digital product and put up a satellite dish instead. Then I bought a dreambox so I could record without having to shell out every month for one of their recorders.
I guess you already know that K-Tipp voted cablecom the worst company of 2006.

Tip: you'll probably forget to do it before the minimum notice period (3 months I think). I always cancel those auto-renewing contracts well in advance, sometimes even on the day I sign them. Easy to do a last minute renewal, but IMPOSSIBLE to do a last minute cancellation!

It's worthwhile complaining as high up as possible. I had troubles with CC, bought a sat dish etc. I complained and took it as high up as I could, each time someone told me I couldn't go higher I asked them to cancel my subscription there and then.
Eventually I got a manager who was really nice to be honest, I had them offering me all sorts to stay on as a customer. So, if you are locked into a contract, see what you can get for free while you're at it.
Complain and thou shalt receive.

Hi...have you tried to contact the "consumer rights organization"? They are normally helpful.
Cheers

Cheers | | | | | Usually, except complaints about cablecom are their number one complaint. K-tipp (one of these organisations) is constantly writing about cablecom. The situation has become so bad that I doubt there could be any more pressure placed on cablecom by these organisations!

That name rings a bell.......they were unable to tell me when it will be signed only that it hasn't yet so the channel is not working..... and yes I am in Basel. It's really annoying as I don't normally want to see any films on there but they just happened to catch my eye on their website with two films I wanted to see. I think I'm more annoyed about advertising something they are not providing more than anything............................

| | | Shabby service from cablecom
Our cablecom box suddenly gave up the ghost yesterday. We got a guy in from the local electricity and cables company "Glattwerk" as the box claimed we weren't receiving a signal. According to him we were. So we phoned cablecom.
We have to send the box in for repair and it will take at least 8-10 working days. I asked if they would send someone with a temporary box until ours came back. The answer was NO it would be too much trouble I'll just have to watch normal television
Cant wait until Dübendorf provides Blu-Win.
P.S feel free to move this to the television thread.

I had the same problem when I used CC. It turned out to be a corrupt card. Remember to refuse to pay all costs for calls to Tech Support, they should foot the bill.

Had the same problem over christmas - they just deducted the days without the box from our bill. Watched the non-digital cable for those days, mostly the same swiss and german channels so didn't miss much...

Hey You Cablecom people who aren't reading this: I hate your crumby customer service!
My connections went down the other day so I called to find out why. Apparently there were 'admin issues' concerning my account (not non-payment of bills!) and the service was halted. Without warning, or explanation. The response was: "We need to put your name back on the contract" or some such nonsense. Funny I've been paying bills with my name on the contract for the last X months... Anyway, was told I'd have to wait up to a week for them to deal with it. Grrrr!
You guys are CLUELESS!
