Many of us have enjoyed the wonderful photos of Switzerland that have been posted here. Often, people want to know the location of the picture.

I thought it could be interesting to turn that round and see who can identify famous landmarks around Switzerland. The catch is that you only a sneak preview or it is an unusual view. They could be buildings or natural features.

Here is an easy one to get things started.

Name the building and the town.

I don't think it's the island -- I think it's the staircase up to Schloss Laufen.

No, I take it back, it is the island, but with the land mass under Schloss Laufen in the background.

It is the island. I took a picture of the Rheinfalls (from the internet), and just cropped the castle and the falls out, leaving just the island and some mist as a clue.

Heh, that's what I thought, too -- no idea what/where it is, though, although I suspect it's one of those concrete atrocities that DB eulogised in a thread a few months ago.
