I realize that most consumer electronics today are cheaper to replace than repair, but I have this media player that is no longer manufactured or supported, and I think I know what is wrong with it... and I have tons of media on the disk - which is formatted to a proprietary format.

One of the capacitors is shot ... I can see discoloration, and I smelled the smell you get when capacitors blow

So, anyone handy with a soldering iron and a multimeter? I will of course also need to find a replacement capacitor, but I am assuming the above handy person will know where to find one of those...
