| | | Egg whites in Switzerland?
I can't find them in all the grocery stores in Biel - do they exist here in Switzerland?
Something like this - http://www.organicdirect.com/eggolog...oz-p-7094.html
Just liquid egg whites
Thanks

They came and went. You'll just have to eat the yolks.

I believe I've read that yolks freeze pretty well so if you get an egg separator, you'll be in good shape. (Never know when you'll get an urge to make a super-rich cake or custard that calls for different amounts of yolks and whites.)
These lovely devices come in a variety of styles, most often I've seen ones that look like a measuring cup with slots cut in the sides near the bottom so that the yolk is resting while the white oozes out.
One of the least tasteful ones I've seen (while googling this just now) is this lovely ceramic one. I'm not sure I'd still have an appetite for whatever it was I was intending the whites for in the first place after using this guy. | | The following 10 users would like to thank Peg A for this useful post: | |

Buy some eggs. Crack them open one at a time. Pour the egg white in one bowl while carefully pouring the egg yolk in the other bowl. voila!

They are probably available to restaurants and such, so you might try a supplier.

| | | Re: Egg whites in Switzerland? ok, so if not a morning person, do this the night before, put the bowl in the fridge overnight, it will keep, and use in the morning.

In short - no, we don't have them. The egg white low carb thing has not caught on here, people on a similar track tend to opt for protein shakes instead.

You might want to request that to the US government and they can start some genetic manipulation on the hens and you might get yolk free eggs..

Only takes a few seconds per egg.

Ok, if you eat that many eggs and want things handy, there is perhaps another solution for you.
Around here, there is an egg farmers cooperative, www.labeye.ch, that delivers fresh eggs to your house, very good quality and price delivered at home. Perhaps there is something similar in your area. If a professional boxer and succesful, and want things handy, I suggest you use that income to pay the farmer's daughter to crack the eggs for you each morning upon delivery.
ps--it could be that Labeye even delivers to your area.

I know they have them in shops where restaurant owners buy food, such as prodega, but i never found egg whites in migros, coop, manor or the likes.

You can buy them at leShop. Search for "blanc d'oeuf liquide".

I'm on a slow carb diet at the moment to shift a few pounds and watched Tim Ferriss make a slow carb breakfast of egg whites, spinach, lemon juice and salsa. He managed to avoid using any product in its original form. Everything was out of a packet and then nuked in the microwave
Purely out of curiosity I had a look locally when out shopping to see if I could find egg whites in a jar and was rather relieved to find I couldn't! I'd suggest separating your eggs manually and doing a few days at a time. This way you could store it in a sealed container to be used in the morning.
